Basic iOS Screen support lacking
I have to echo the comments from IngraoMusic from 3 years ago. I have the most expensive iPad Pro and keyboard combo, and unfortunately this app only runs in Portrait mode, meaning I have to remove the iPad and disconnect the keyboard. This is terrible because when trying to create any kind of complicated patch, it takes time! And having a keyboard and professional working surface is essential. It would have been better if there were no iPad support at all! That way the iPad would have emulated the iPhone and it would have worked fine without the app developers having to implement it. Not a good look from such an essential app.

Roland can and should do Better.
The app is fine. It’s actually good—if this were an indie shop. It is the legendary Roland brand behind it yet the app isn’t on the level of the actual Aerophone or Zencore.
For starters the app should be updated to the latest iOS/iPadOS UI/UX standards meaning auto rotate to support landscape or portrait views. Most iPad Pro users use a Magic Keyboard which docks iPad in Landscape. This is bare minimum and not difficult to update yet it hasn’t been.
The AE-20/30 is a real synth and this app opens up the sound design potential of the device. It should be AU compatible so you can tweak patches and create sounds while in Zenbeats, AUM, Logic Pro, DAW hosts. This will allow you to stay in the flow of creating and recording performances by yourself or with others.
The “Pro” editor app should definitely be available for Mac as a standalone and AU/VST. See above.
Finally the overall app could use some UI love. It seems less made for touch and more like an app better suited for a mouse arrow to access tiny drop downs. People with normal size fingers and larger will have issues navigating the many hidden areas. Speaking of hidden areas—why? It isn’t very intuitive to have so many necessary parameters hidden underneath secretive long presses on tiny UI elements.
I would love to elaborate further and provide design mockups and more feedback if updating and improving this app is a priority as I am a designer/developer. Just respond to this comment and ill go thru normal support channels.

Good, but missing usability features
Overall a good app, but missing some basic iOS features that make the usability poor for live use cases.
I often play with backing tracks, so the fact that the app only runs in portrait on my iPad Pro and doesn’t support multi tasking makes it very user unfriendly.
Ideally, this should auto rotate and support the ability to run in landscape mode side by side with a media player.

Great app!
Makes it easy to program the Aerophone. This instrument is DEEP! I cant see programming the AE-30 without it!
