awful
Love it but I’m disappointed

Hi, frænd! Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing your feedback! We're really glad you're enjoying the game, though we're sorry the trading system wasn't what you expected. Trading in ÆRTHLINGS is designed so the physical fig changes hands, while each player keeps the unique digital ÆRTHLING they originally hatched from that fig. The player who receives the fig can hatch their own unique digital ÆRTHLING, and both players can continue benefiting from that fig's journey over time through the LINEAGE. We hope you cross paths with another player who has the same Species fig in the future, giving you another chance to welcome one back into your world. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review, and we hope you continue enjoying your adventures in ÆRTHLINGS!
Wouldn’t work:(
Good game

Thank you so much, Chase! 💚 We're really glad to hear you're enjoying ÆRTHLINGS overall! The two issues you mentioned are both ones we've been working on. The Quest/Hearts issue will be fixed in v1.5.1, so once that update is available (we submitted it and will release as soon as it gets approved for both mobile app stores), your Requests should start appearing normally again. For the MOONLINGS getting stuck underground, v1.5.1 also includes a fix that reduces how often that happens. It won't eliminate every case just yet, but we hope it's a noticeable improvement on your end, and we'll continue refining it in future updates. In the meantime, if you do run into a buried MOONLING, you can lower the terrain beneath it in Edit Mode until it becomes visible and your ÆRTHLINGS can reach it. We're currently just waiting for approval to release the hotfix build. Thanks again for the kind words and for sticking with us, it really means a lot! 💚
This game shows a lot of promise
That said, I am currently locked out of progression. After joining the Discord, I found out the Character Request missions are currently bugged, which can completely halt your progress depending on what areas you’ve unlocked. It’s also possible that the game expects you to own more figures to access enough Character Requests, but right now it’s hard to tell because of the bug.
The world editor also has a lot of potential, but there are a few quality-of-life improvements I’d love to see. More customization options would go a long way, and a storage system for non-trashable items like rocks and trees would make building much less frustrating. Right now, if they’re in the way, you have to manually move them back and forth instead of storing them until you’re done.
A top-down camera mode would also be a huge improvement. The current camera makes it difficult to select and edit tiles that are lower than the surrounding terrain. If a tile is boxed in by higher ones, you often have to lower all of the surrounding tiles just to access the one in the middle, then raise everything back up afterward. A top-down view would make terrain editing much smoother and eliminate a lot of unnecessary extra work.
That said, I’m also progression-locked because I can’t upgrade the Geomancer Hut until the quest bug is fixed. Since that means I haven’t unlocked every world editing feature yet, it’s entirely possible that some of the issues I’m experiencing are addressed later through progression. I can’t say for certain until I’m able to continue.
One final idea: I know a PC version is planned, and I think it would be really cool if there were an optional USB or Bluetooth “portal” accessory that let you scan your figures into the PC version. It would be a fun throwback to games like Skylanders, and I think a lot of people would buy it for the nostalgia alone. Including an exclusive Aerthling with the portal would make it an even more appealing collector’s item.
Even with the current issues, I’m still optimistic. The game has a solid foundation, and if the progression bugs are fixed and the world editor gets a few quality-of-life improvements, I can see myself putting a lot more time into it.
More than just a game
The lineage factor was especially interesting to me. The fact that I can trade with someone else. And keep my figure digitally still but also get to see all the other times that figure gets scanned down the line is such a cool concept.
The app is fun even if you don’t have any figs to scan and you can unlock other characters through just playing (although you can’t trade those)

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review! We're really glad you're enjoying the game and that your Treep is keeping you motivated to build. We also appreciate your feedback! While they may look like just cubes at first glance, each one unlocks a unique ÆRTHLING that you can keep in your digital collection and you can trade the fig with other players to hatch more ÆRTHLINGS in your game and grow your digital collection. You can also meet Visitor ÆRTHLINGS in-game and help them reach Level 5 before they continue their adventure. If you're planning to attend PAX West this year, be sure to stop by our booth! We'll be giving away 1 free Seed Series packet! We also host community giveaways on Discord, so there are a few extra ways to grow your collection. Thanks again for playing and for taking the time to leave a review. We can't wait for you to meet even more ÆRTHLINGS!
Absolute must play!!
The feeling of opening your figurines is an excitement I haven’t felt since Pokemon originally dropped in the 90s… The packaging is adorable, the excitement of hatching your Aerthlings is like none other.
Now, I am “patiently” waiting on a new case of Aerthlings to arrive, to introduce and gift to my family and neighbors around me.
As others mentioned, this will ABSOLUTELY be the next big collectible game, and I am excited to be a kickstarter backer!
Welcome to Aerth, get in before you get FOMO.
It’s hip to be square!
