Why is there an encryption app which can’t encrypt until you buy it??!!?!?

AES Crypt 4.0 is a game changer. The app offers a smooth, modern design and all problems and bugs have been successfully patched. It’s now so easy to use the app!
You can snap a picture, record a video, even select any file from your gallery and go. It’s so easy to decrypt as well! The app values privacy, and with the new pin and Face ID feature security is top notch.
My previous lifetime subscription still carried from the older versions, which was surprising to say the least! One more thing: the encryptions are very customisable, you can select two versions of AES as well as change the save directories and many more I still haven’t looked into. This app is certainly worth the small $10 price tag.

But I'm sure you know by now that it can't decrypt files encrypted with the latest version of AES Crypt on other platforms. Are you planning to update this? If not, please hand it off to someone who will. I think you owe your paid customers that much.

Do you understand what “free with an app purchases” means? If I have to pay to use the function that is advertised, that means it’s paid not free. Why did you greedy people decide to make it cost money on iOS when it is 100% free on Linux, Windows, and macOS? It’s like iOS is a breeding ground for monetization. I hate Apple. There is not a single thing on the App Store that doesn’t cost money. Again if it is paid, why did you lie that it was free?

SCAM
The encrypt camera didn’t work when you pressed it and kept crashing. When I deleted and reinstalled it, I had to pay AGAIN and there is no way to restore purchases.

No funciona. Encriptas las fotos desde la fototeca y continúan allí abiertas. Además no interacciona con archivos ni fotos, ósea no te da la accion directa de encriptar, tienes que ir a la app y desde ahí tratar de buscar esa foto y encriptarla. Y a mayores no sabes dónde queda guardada tu foto encriptada. No hay carpeta de archivos encriptados.

Aes crashes
The app is crashing in many scenarios One of them is if you export the encrypted to the app and it has special chars on its filename , like -= Tried with different iPhones Feels like the app wasnt really tested I am the stupid who payed for this app .Main functionality of the app - encrypt camera picture dowsnt work , crashes as well. There arw more scenarios of crashes.

Junk. I’ve requested a refund
I got this app and bought the pro version. I still see no way to introduce a document into the app to have in encrypted. After some effort, I think I have learned that this app con—excuse me, can—not encrypt files or documents. It can only DE crypt them if they have been previously encrypted on some Mac or Windows big computer.
I have no need for other encryption on other machines. I was buying an encryption program for use on and with the iPhone

few minor requests!
One "issue" i would like to be changed is the fact that the "You have no files..." notification appears even before i have entered the passcode.
Also: Please(pretty please!) add an option to disable the "automatic encryption process" when adding a file. I want to be able to add files without immediatly beeing asked to enter a password to encrypt them.
And lastly: Would it be possible to have the files accessible through the phones built in file manager? I know this would directly interfere with the previously mentioned passcode but maybe you could at least make it available when the app's passcode option is disabled? Or maybe a "one-way-sandbox" of some sort?

May not work to encrypt
The application still works to decrypt files encrypted somewhere else (e.g. on MacOS or Linux). The process to decrypt is not obvious, you have to select the aes file in "files", then "share" and send it to the app.
Encryption needs a paid upgrade to "pro features", but other people posted that this does not appear to be possible. The developper's web site is offline. Apparently, the app is not maintained any more (mid 2022).

Upgrade purchase doesn’t work
The app is not useable without the purchase of a “Pro Version” and you can’t buy it even if you would want to do that.

This app has not been updated in over 4 years and should not be in the App Store! It seems the developers have forgotten about this app. Links to the help site in the app do not even work. Avoid this!

Encryption error with all files
Could be great/useful if…
It appears this app hasn't been updated in a while. Apple has made changes to how Open-in/Share-to feature works and is organized. This app will allow you to copy an .AES encrypted file to the app to decrypt, but you are unable to open-in from other apps such as the photos app, Word, etc. The AESCrypt app/icon doesn't show up as an option. Please update…would make it great and actually useful 🙏
