About

A screenshot takes a second to make and a while to make sendable. There is an email address in the corner, a phone number in a row you had stopped noticing, and a raw crop that looks like nothing. Aftershot handles both halves, on your device, with nothing to sign in to. Cover what should stay yours Drag a box over it, or draw over it freehand, and pick blur, pixelate, or a solid block. Aftershot never guesses what is sensitive and never tells you it is done. You decide what gets covered, and every cover stays movable and re-styleable until you export. Make it worth looking at Set the shot on a backdrop, add padding, round the corners, lift it with a shadow. Pick the shape you need, from square to a ratio you type yourself. Put it in a metal frame, or in a window frame with a title bar and traffic lights. Save the whole look as a template and use it again on the next screenshot. Say something on it Arrows, text, highlights, a spotlight that dims everything outside a rectangle, and numbered badges for walking someone through a screen. Tap a mark again and its menu comes up where it sits, so color and size change in place. Lasso a group of marks and move, restyle, or delete the whole set at once. Marks are not trapped inside the screenshot either, so an arrow can start out on the backdrop and point in. Everything is included No account. No sign-in. No subscription. No ads. No watermark on your export. Your screenshots never leave your device: editing, redaction and export all happen on it, and the only thing the app ever sends is a feedback note you choose to write. Every feature is open. In the app Backdrops: solid colors, linear gradients, mesh gradients, or a blurred copy of the screenshot itself. Presets including Sunset, Ocean, Aurora, Midnight, Nebula, and Sage, plus any solid color you pick yourself. Layout: crop, padding, corner radius, shadow depth and spread. Square, portrait, landscape, or the screenshot's own shape, from a rail of ratios you can add to and edit. Drag the canvas corner, or type the ratio. Frames: none, a metal frame whose weight you set, or a window frame with a title bar, traffic lights, and a title of your own. Light or dark. Redaction: blur, pixelate, or a solid block in any color, as a dragged box with its own corner rounding, a freehand marker stroke, or a paint-roller smear. Annotations: arrows, boxes, text, highlights, spotlight, and numbered badges, in seven colors or any color you pick. Arrange the annotate toolbar to your liking in Settings. Selection: tap a mark to edit it in place, or lasso several and treat them as one. Templates: settle on a look once, then reuse it. Share extension: send a screenshot into Aftershot from the iOS share sheet. Export: lossless PNG, saved to Photos, sent on through the share sheet, or copied to the clipboard. Everything you make stays in the library, still editable, with undo and redo the whole way. iPhone and iPad, one app.

What's New in Aftershot

1.1

August 18, 2026

Aftershot 1.1 Redact - Paint: a roller that lays a solid smear, beside the box and the marker; it lays its full width whichever way you drag - Solid covers in any color, from swatches or the color wheel - Blur, Pixelate and Solid are tiles; the Shape row under them picks Box, Marker or Paint, even with a cover selected - The freehand stroke is now called Marker - A stroke dragged to the edge stays whole; a drag that starts off the picture creates nothing Annotate - Box tool: a stroked rectangle with its own weight and corner rounding - Arrange the toolbar in Settings: which tools sit on the bar and in what order; the rest wait under a More menu - Tap a numbered badge to type its number - Fresh ink defaults to ember, so marks read on white screenshots - Every tool remembers its style across projects and launches - Arrow and box weight, text and badge size, ink width and spotlight dim gained a reset dot - Roomier tool tiles that scroll, keeping the armed tool in view; both drawing bars stand at one height Canvas and gestures - Alignment guides while moving, resizing and drawing marks, with corners and endpoints snapping too - Long press lifts a mark to move it freely (or to snap, your pick in Settings), corners and endpoints too - The picture uses the whole stage; a taller bar covers it, and a badge offers to fit what is visible - When a taller bar leaves, the picture glides back into place instead of staying high - A selection that leaves the screen gets a locator chip; tap it to bring it back - Steadier two-finger pinch and pan: a bounced finger no longer ends the gesture - Selection rings and guides wear a light casing so they read on any pixels - Arming a tool clears the selection, and the panel follows the tool - A press inside a selected mark's halo draws with the armed tool instead of moving the mark - The Frame tab's second row cross-fades in place instead of wiping Backdrop, layout and frame - The factory gradient is a named preset, Iris, first in the row - Default corner radius for new screenshots is 3%, and the Corners slider resets to your own default Home and import - New screenshots in Settings: the backdrop (a preset, random, none or last used) and corner a fresh import starts with, for picked, pasted and shared screenshots alike - Every import composes its gallery picture at once, so Recents never shows a raw screenshot - Returning from the editor no longer flickers the gallery card - Paste says when the clipboard holds no image, and checks again - iPad runs in one window, so two windows can never overwrite each other's edits - If the project list cannot be read, Home says so instead of looking like a fresh install - iPhone runs in portrait Settings - Editor gestures, Annotate toolbar, New screenshots, Reset tutorials, Help and rating rows; larger reading copy, one section rhythm Export and sharing - Share hands over the app's own PNG, lossless with transparency, from the export sheet and the gallery - Copy no longer stalls on large exports and replaces the clipboard cleanly - The share extension reports a share it could not save - Save errors say what actually happened Accessibility - VoiceOver announces the selected option in every picker and names every top-bar control - Tool tiles grow with your text size Also fixed - A picked or pasted screenshot opened on the factory backdrop instead of your default - The crop editor could be undone by the color picker or a long press - A color-wheel drag or a held stepper made dozens of undo steps; now one - Applying a template left the bar at the wrong height - A failure notice delayed opening the next project - Group moves keep every cover in place; corner-resize snapping reaches the end of the range - Haptics follow one rule: a tap that changes nothing is silent - A highlight or marker over a transparent corner exports exactly as it looks on screen
