Dangerous

This app is cool and all BUT I found it to be very dangerous to use while walking on these trails in particular the bee Pokémon go style game as I was walking I walked into the pond and off a cliff on accident, I have great special awareness but this app does too good of a job taking my attention to the digital world of quizzes and games that I almost committed to a life in heaven or hell I don’t know where I’d go to be fair. This app is no good to me let alone little children.

Wonderful game, helps get everyone out in nature

I really appreciate the app and the fun times it has given our family. Great for exploring your own backyard at no cost, just really grateful that there are people who took the time to put together great resources like this for the community to enjoy at no cost. Thank you!

Great intent! Not quite ready.

The intent of this app is great. But its functionality is not quite ready for prime time.
When tapped, the color change of the buttons is barely noticeable. Upon first use, I didn’t notice it.
After tapping responses, suddenly the user realizes the question is overwith and the earned points are displayed. Did I miss something?
When I chose the Scrub series, where was I supposed to be located? Maybe give name and address of the park.
When picture of a walkway into the woods is displayed and a user image is requested, what am I supposed to provide? An image of what? Where was I expected to be located? Snapping an image of what?
This game is a great concept. Perhaps could earn different rewards or badges. 10 parks visited, 5 waterfront parks, 5 flat woods preserves, 5 north county and 5 south county. Images of wildlife like scrubjay, tortoise, osprey, snake, etc.

Fun

My school recently had this program where we designed a mission on this app, and I loved it! My siblings (who are younger) enjoyed playing the app, and getting outside. I like the goal of this app as well. Overall, I would recommend it for people that like exploring and young kids that are up for a walk/hike.

Frustrating

Every time you click out of the app to do something like take a photo, it resets back to the start!!

My kids really enjoy using this app to explore and learn. The only real bug bear I have is if they want to take photos they have to leave the app, which then takes time to reload.

Needs a map view

Our kids enjoy using this app and learning what makes the park so special and unique. And it’s encouraging to see new locations added every few months and keeps the kids excited to explore new places.

This app really needs a map view instead of just the locations based on the distance. When people travel, this feature may help immensely by giving us places to visit and plan ahead.

Great fun!

Our grandsons ages 6 and 9 loved doing the challenges. They said it reminded them of earth caches, the treasure is knowledge. Thank you for the wonderful learning experience. They want to do more!! ❤️

App continuously hangs

The app would constantly hang on the screen that said “contacting headquarters” or something like that. I would have to hard quit and restart. The app claims it doesn’t need internet access if you download the map so why does it need to contact headquarters? It also eats a ton of battery using GPS. I’m sure it could be more efficient with GPS.

Getting better and better

This is a fun and engaging game for young kids and adults who love to be outside, exploring. The app features lots of improvements over the last several years and the addition of play-at-home missions makes it accessible to everyone no matter if they’re near a mission site or are farther away

I was really looking forward to using this app with my daughter but every time we click on a mission the app shuts down.

Doesn’t work

Tried it in multiple parks and the map does not work. It never opens challenges or registers QR code’s.

Nevada?

None for the whole state of Nevada? We have a Nat’l Park, State Parks, Historical Sites, Cultural Sites, Ghost Towns, etc...
