About

Al-Hira is the official app for Al-Hira Mosque & Education Centre, East London. Stay connected with your mosque. Check prayer and Jam'at times at a glance, follow a live countdown to the next prayer and browse the full timetable — this month and next. Never miss a prayer with customisable notifications, Live Activity countdowns on your Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets. Grow closer to the Qur'an with a daily verse and reflection, follow our step-by-step Hajj and Umrah guides, and support the mosque with quick, secure donations — right from the app. The Donate page also publishes what the mosque receives and what it spends, so you can see exactly where your donation goes. For families in our Islamic education classes, the Education Portal keeps you close to your child's learning — check attendance, fees and monthly progress reports, and message teachers directly, all in one place. Teachers and staff use the same portal to take the register and record progress. Prayer times and the calendar stay available offline so you can check times anywhere — no signal needed. The Islamic date now changes at Maghrib. The Islamic day begins at sunset so from Maghrib onwards the Home screen shows the next day's Hijri date instead of waiting until midnight. The widgets now show the same Islamic date as the app. They worked it out separately before, so they could be a day out from the Home screen and spelled some months differently — "Rabi I" rather than Rabi ul Awwal. Every widget now follows the date printed in the masjid's own timetable and turns over at Maghrib too.
