Dev has resolved all bugs I’ve reported, and is responsive to feedback/suggestions. UI is familiar for writers that have used Scrivener. It is not bloated with unused features and the ones you need are easy to find. Building it over a markdown structure was smart, as it makes each project extremely portable even if you need to access it from outside of the apple ecosystem. Price is more than fair. Fantastic simple but highly useful app.

Promising Start
So far, it’s simple, but good enough to concentrate on what is important. The Writing. The Binder and the Notes (including the other features) area of the other side panel are good enough to be there, but only when I’ll need them and not bloated. Feels natural writing in the main text editor and basically Scrivener, but strip down, but with features that are useful again and again instead of bloated features that won’t be touch. Very good on you developer. I see that in Settings where we can customize our own themes, but if you know CSS code that is. I’m going to be honest, this is a bit of a head scratcher to me (I don’t know how to code with CSS much, but very very little, lol) And especially for a writing app that is gear towards for writers, I don’t know how many writers (there are, but only a handful of writers will) actually know how to do CSS code to get our own themes. So hopefully the developer will implement customizations for non-coders to create our own writing environment color themes as another option way. I will even say, don’t take away the coding of CSS to create themes too. To give options for writers who are not coders and an option for writers who does know CSS code. Anyway, it’s all a promising start and a so far another good option for anyone who wants a Scrivener like writing app, but less of the learning curve. You may like this one. And also for the asking price is very generous, but I think it’s a good asking price for writers who may not have the income. An appreciation. So I’m curious of where the developer will go with this one.

Hey there! Thanks so much for the review, and great point about CSS theming not being very accessible. I’ve just released a 1.2 update with several new features and bugfixes, but I’m saving adding a full theming UI for a followup release since it’s a little more involved. I also want to include some pre-built custom themes and the ability to share themes with fellow writers. Expect that coming in the 1.3 release! Thanks again for the kind words, and happy writing!

I’m always on the lookout for new software for my longform writing projects, and this one just might be it. The price is more than fair and it is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Super intuitive for anyone that has scrivener experience, but simplified down to only what I actually need. Sync is smooth, and I absolutely love that the files are just markdown and remain portable. There is a bug in the characters tab. This can be corrected by removing pre existing templates and regenerating/using new ones. I’ve emailed the dev about it and will update this review when/if it gets resolved.
