The voice recognition on iPad requires Setting->General->Keyboard->Enable Dictation to be enable. See my reply to your facebook post. Thanks

Update 7/21/2025 - Version 5.4 now features frame transfer tracking when moving frames between colonies. Thanks for the feedback. It's on our to do list. 4/24/2025 - Version 4.5 now has an equipment maintenance/issues feature. Add a new task/feature and track the status. Easily close and archive work completed.

Just got this app, have suggestion

Hey thanks for the review. Version 3.9 now has NFC Tag and QRCode scan to start inspection. You can also setup a custom script for feeding, treatments etc. A simple scan will then log the task.
Documenting Hives
Love the app but have a few suggestions
1. The ability to inspect frame by frame instead of counting all honey stores etc. For example: frame 1 empty, frame 2 capped honey, frame 3 has capped brood with bee bread and capped honey on edges.
2. The ability to change inspection time and date. I was having some challenges with the voice activated system and I wound up taking notes and then dictating the inspection later. I would like to be able to modify the date and time of inspection.
3. The ability to print a PDF of an entire yard with detailed hive inspection notes for outyard clients. So the ability to print by hive or apiary. Also the ability to correct spelling in that document.
4. The ability to set up a custom hive inspection template.
5. A menu for adding supers, requeening, preventative treatments or other treatments.
I’m new to using this so some of that may be there and I just haven’t found it yet. It’s just a little clunky during an inspection because of how it’s set up.

10/17/2024 - Concerning #3, you can now print a PDF of the entire bee yard with all hive inspection notes. Concerning #4, you can now easily create your own custom inspection checklists And much more, we hope you enjoy the newest version. Thanks for your excellent feedback. We are happy you have found the app useful. We have anticipated beekeepers would want to customize the inspection flow to better suit their needs and have made the app easy to customize by modifying the voice scripts. A frame by frame inspection is definitely doable and we think this type of inspection would benefit many beekeepers so we will be adding it as a separate inspection type as soon as possible. If you would like get notified when its released please email us at support@beekeepervoice.com You already can clone any of the inspection scripts to create your own custom inspection flow as needed. Again thanks for such an excellent review, we will incorporate many of the ideals into the app soon.
Stuck at welcome screen

Thanks for the feedback. After some research we found a problem with the screen sizes on the lower resolution SE models where the button is off the screen. A fix has been released in version 2.9. Please download the latest version. We offer a free limited trial version so you can try out the app prior to subscribing.
