Manual Macro Targets?
For an app that advertises itself as a macro tracker, you’d expect yourself to be able to manually enter your macro targets - right?
Wrong!
In this (paid for) app you have to choose percentages of your target calorie goal for the app to pick the individual macros for you. You’d expect such a simple little function to be available through this app.
I swapped from a different calorie tracker (ProCal) to give this one a shot because it was slightly cheaper (still $30) after the free trial. I guess in the end you get what you pay for, but overall if you care about tracking your macros as close as possible, I’d recommend a different tracker unless they add this function.

A Useful but Inconsistent AI Calorie Counter
Data management is another weak spot: no export option, and food entries rely heavily on peer‑submitted information that doesn’t seem moderated. Supplements like Centrum don’t show up in the nutrient summary at all, which makes the overview feel incomplete.
The AI guidance also misses the mark — on a low‑carb diet it congratulated me for increasing my carb intake, which is the opposite of what I’m aiming for. As a simple calorie counter, it suffices. As a smart nutrition tool, it’s not there yet. And for what it costs, I expected more reliability and polish.

Hi xRobert, Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback! It’s clear you’ve explored Appediet thoroughly, and your insights highlight some important areas we need to improve. You’ve pointed out a few key concerns — variability in the carb counter, the manual effort required for customization, data loss during plan changes, and the lack of export options. These are all valid points, and your input emphasizes how essential consistency and robust data management are for users who rely on precise tracking, especially for focused plans like low-carb diets. Enhancing these features is absolutely on our radar. We also understand that the peer-submitted food data and nutrient gaps, such as supplements not appearing in summaries, can affect the overall experience. Moderation and database completeness are areas we’re actively working on. As for AI guidance, we aim to make it smarter and more aligned with your individual goals — ensuring it supports rather than contradicts your efforts. Your view on pricing is completely noted. While we offer a range of free features, we’re committed to earning the trust of our paying users by constantly refining Appediet into a truly comprehensive and dependable nutrition tool. Your detailed feedback will fuel meaningful updates, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to improve. Wishing you great success in your health journey! Stay healthy and strong, Your Appediet Team
