AI KataGo
AI KataGo Go is a mobile application that allows users to play the board game Go against the powerful KataGo AI. It brings the advanced capabilities of the PC version to mobile, simplifying installation and access.
The provided description does not explicitly state whether AI KataGo Go supports offline play. However, AI games typically require processing power, so an internet connection might be necessary for optimal performance.
The description focuses on playing against the AI KataGo. It does not mention any features for playing against other human players, either online or locally.
The 'Opening Game' feature allows you to compete with KataGo on even terms within the first 50 moves. This mode is designed to help you study and understand KataGo's opening strategies, which can then be applied to your matches against people.
When you request an AI Best Move, KataGo provides up to three candidate moves. The blue spot indicates the move KataGo considers to be the absolute best, helping you identify optimal plays.
Instead of traditional point counting, KataGo judges game strength by ownership size. Each Go space has a value between 0 and 1, indicating ownership. The AI Judge uses these values to assess the game's state and your strength.
AI KataGo Go was last updated on March 26, 2026, with version 1.1.23. This suggests a development cycle that may involve periodic updates, though the exact frequency is not specified.
AI KataGo Go is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod. It is designed for iOS devices.
