I have to give them credit for trying
Navigating a meeting of 6000 people in dozens of parallel sessions is a challenge. They made a real effort. Things like directions to the next talk are helpful. But that assumes you know what the next interesting talk is. The biggest challenge for me is seeing what my options are. Browsing through sessions to see what the talks are is a common task. If there is a way to do this, it isn’t obvious. Call me a Luddite, but what they need are:
1) A large display near registration with all the talks laid out so you can see it without data mining to plan your agenda.
2) paper maps of the complex. These are available from the visitors bureau, and being able to navigate off the app was like a light going on.
Frankly, this app tries to do too much for such a small display.
