Not bad

It is what it is. Won’t be as polished as your bigger options or as feature rich as Plex. But it’s free and you can download your own music. It’s not bad. It’s simple and gets the job done if you just want to play from your library in a pinch on your phone. Exactly what I need. Was a little scared seeing the reviews on here, all which are old. It does the job, could always be better but I appreciate the option. An Apple Watch app would be perfect as would CarPlay/android auto.

手动调节播放进度，总是先归零

首先非常喜欢你们家的nas硬件是如此的有诚意。然后不得不喷一下你们家的软件体验真的很差。首先。音乐为什么每次登陆都要好久。就不能设置缓存吗。每次我带上耳机，双击耳机并不能播放。因为被登陆拦住了，第二，每次手动调进度进度条都要想回到起始点，然后再跳过去。这么明显的bug就看不到吗。

Works Perfectly

Not sure what all the poor reviews are for, or if they were for previous versions, but I’ve no problems at all.

I’m using an Asustor AS5404T with ‘sounds good App installed. I have a Music folder and have just copied music into it from my PC.

Once AIMusic app has logged in to the NAS with your account, you just specify the folder with the music and you’re done!

It’s playing all my music without issue.

One thing I would say is that when my iPhone is connected to my HomeTheatre via Bluetooth the volume is quite low, so have to turn the volume up more than I would like and I have to remember to turn it back down again after disconnecting!

Lyrics are gone

Latest update push, without asking first, no longer display song lyrics?

Lyrics are added as text using the database items that AiMusic is mapped to (iTunes). Similar to how album artwork is copied and pasted. Android items can do the same using Windows media player, etc.

Never lost any lyrics until the last update push.

Hi, Due to copyright considerations and the unavailability of third-party lyric databases, the Lyrics Plugin feature was removed in the new version of AiMusic. This change aligns with the Android version of AiMusic. Could you please clarify how you obtained lyrics in the previous version? Were they manually added or sourced from other third-party lyric plugins? Thank you.

Used to work, now it doesn’t

It used to work, as a no frills music app to play music from my Asustor NAS over the LAN to an iPhone XR and 8. No longer; it can connect to the NAS and see the music files and album covers, but none of the songs (various formats) will play; the app just sits there with the spinning circle thing well, spinning. Meanwhile other apps like Flacbox still work fine with the NAS.
May be coincidence but seems to have stopped working around the time Asustor updated ADM due to the ransomware attacks.
Shame really.

Deceiving

Albums randomly split by artist when CD is a compilation (you’ll see four times the album with for different artists for example) for most on my albums, once you clic on the album, the songs are doubled, tripled or more (a 16 tracks cd will appear 32 tracks, for example, and tracks 1&2 will be the same, 3&4 the same, etc.)

Used to work

First it started disconnecting randomly mid song. Then cannot browse albums but can search? Then starting pausing every minute for 5 seconds. Then just stoped working completely. Works on my other iPhone 7 with same user details.

Works ok with Asustor AS4004T

I have a large collection of music I uploaded into AS4004T. The iTunes server on the NAS works pretty decent. There is a tiny lag when streaming from AS4004T to MacBook pro via itunes. But from AS4004T to iPhone 8 via Aimusic app, there is a much longer lag.

But this is a review of aimusic
Good:
It loads all the lists pretty quick and no issues connecting to AS4004T. Very reliable in this regard, considering how much music (over 100 GB)
The connection set up was pretty easy.
Playlist functionality seems to be there but I haven't tried alot yet.
Oh and this allows iPhone to play music from AS4004T iTunes server on both iPhone and homepod, while iPhone iTunes can't even connect to AS4004T iTunes server.

Bad:
And the fade in to beginning of every song is not good. When playing the same song on MacBook pro, you can hear the full beginning of song. But on iPhone, AiMusic seems to enter into the song 1-2 seconds in, so it's an abrupt jump, which is annoying. also when going to next song there is a long lag, which isn't great for live concert music where the music continues from track to track. Both of these things don't happen with iTunes on MacBook.

Needs work

Easy to set up, but shuts down often, especially when trying to create playlist. Won't download for offline play either. Running iOS 9.0.2

Love to use the random playlist when I've got my Bluetooth speaker on, so much easier than keeping all my music on my phone.

Doesn't Work!

I have tried to connect this to my QNAP and it simply refuses. The details it asks for are all correct and exactly the same details I use to connect to my QNAP from any browser or other apps. The browsers and other apps will connect first time every time from anywhere in the world. This app won't even connect while in the same room as my QNAP. I've deleted the app and will make do without.

Lacks an equalizer and sort by option

Great app to stream from NAS, clean interface makes it awesome.
Needs an equalizer to make it complete and a 'sort by' option when browsing by folders. Otherwise it would be 5 stars!
