Apple Watch A new watch app shows the air quality where you are, with a five-day forecast on the next screen. Complications put the current reading on your watch face. Widgets Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets showing the current reading and what is coming. A US air quality map, not just dots on one “US Air Quality Index” draws the hourly AQI as a continuous field across North America, so you can see the shape of the air between the monitors rather than a scatter of pins. “US Air Quality Index Tomorrow” does the same for tomorrow’s forecast. Both come from EPA AirNow. EPA monitor pins now come from our own service rather than a shared dataset. They load faster and are more current. Fixes • Smoke forecasts no longer drop the occasional blank hour. • Satellite imagery no longer leaves a black band down the international date line. • Background refresh is more reliable, so the map is current when you open it.
