What's New in Airgap

1.24.0

September 9, 2026

Tool servers on your own network no longer need a certificate. Airgap has always let you point at a model server over plain http://, but tool servers were refused unless they ran on the device itself, which is no help when the server is a box on your LAN. You can now add one by its IP address or its .local name, and the address field tells you while you type when a connection will not be encrypted. On iPhone, named addresses such as tools.example.com still need https://, because iOS will not carry unencrypted traffic to them. Sign-in is the exception. On an unencrypted connection, anything on the network can rewrite the step that decides where you sign in and send you to a page it controls. Tool servers that use sign-in therefore still require https:// unless they run on your device, and that now holds however the request arrives, including when a server asks for sign-in after you have already connected to it.
