Very Satisfied!! Great app!

AirScrobbler has been exactly what I was looking for. I use it to scrobble my vinyl record plays directly to Last.fm, and it works beautifully. I did run into a small issue at first, but after exchanging a few emails with Tom, the developer, he put in a lot of time and effort to quickly resolve everything. The app now runs perfectly.

It’s absolutely worth purchasing if you’re looking for a reliable scrobbling app. Huge thanks to Tom for creating something so useful for vinyl listeners (& others) and for staying on top of updates to keep everything running smoothly.

FINALLY the perfect app it always wanted to be

To make a long story short, this app has been “in the works” for a few years now. I use this app to scrobble audio from my record player. For years now, the struggles have been almost too much - wrong songs registering, the app freezing, illegitimate/scam songs registering - it was a lot. The recent updates have fixed virtually all of these issues; namely the “block” features, as well as the much improved auto-scrobbling.

DON’T TOUCH IT IT’S PERFECT RIGHT NOW THE WAY IT IS.

The only hope we have in Russia

It’s okey. It doesn’t scrobble right all the tracks, and works pretty lame in auto mode as after a while it just turns off. But I love the setting of auto-eliminating featuring artists. Also I noticed it works only with European ip-adresses / нормально. Не скробблит все треки, и плохо работает в автоматическом режиме, так как просто выключается через некоторое время. Но мне нравится настройка по удалению из названия приглашенных артистов. Также заметила, что работает только с европейскими ip-адресами.

Key feature does not work well

Auto scrobble or continuous scrobble barely works. It frequently grabs the wrong track, also does not continuously scrobble like the name suggests. You constantly have to toggle it on and off to remind it to keep listening. It also doesn’t work with your phone asleep.

If you wanted to set it and forget it as a way of scribbling any CDs or vinyl, forget it. This app will not serve you.

A few fixes to make it 5 stars

I use this app with YouTube music so I’m not sure about other services. I think the design is good and the manual scrobbling works great. I like the lockscreen widget they added so I can quickly view and access the app. My main issue is the autoscrobble. It has an error or just stops working over half the time. I still pay the yearly subscription because I think it’s worth it even with just the manual scrobbling. If the developers can figure out how to fix the auto (which I’m sure is challenging, I don’t know anything about that stuff) I would give the app 5 stars. Thank you for the app, last.fm is the best and I’m grateful to have an easy way to track songs I listen to on my phone.

New update slowed down scrobbling

Ever since this new update came out, having to select auto match has been incredibly slow that could last for minutes. Beforehand this wasn’t an issue. I don’t know if this was software bug or something wrong on my end. If you get the chance, please fix this because this is eating up my iPhone 15 Pro’s speed

When it works it works, but this is very infrequent!

Auto matching often fails meaning it needs to be toggled off and on again. On top of this after the scribble countdown (at any setting) the app throws a “an error occurred cancelled” message up and ceases to scrobble. Logging out and back in doesn’t solve it. Not worth the subscription for this so trial cancelled.

terrifically useful

I use this very often while driving around listening to CDs on my 00s car stereo. I’m happy to hear of a fix for app-in-background scrobbling as I did notice that tracks seem to be ignored when the nav app is in the foreground (if that’s not what that was about, never mind!). The only real annoyance is a tendency for hallucinations now and then. Really off the wall tracks that I would never listen to. I am forced to monitor and remember to push the button as I can’t let it scrobble automatically without having an autistic freak out, editing my scrobbles on last.fm while driving down the freeway.

But that’s probably happening behind ShazamKit. If only there were a way to configure the temperature to be more like it is with Shazam, where you occasionally get failures but almost never an hallucination.. Would make an awesome user configurable parameter if it exists!

V 1.12 Is Significantly Less Useful

I have been using AirScrobble for nine months, and I have really appreciated that it could match songs played while using headphones. This was a unique and useful feature. AirScrobble was truly a great app.

However, with the 1.12 update, this feature seems to be no longer available. Unfortunately this makes the app all but useless for me.

Unfortunately this restriction is due to an issue introduced on an iOS update which is preventing the app to work in the background while listening to songs from system audio or headphones. You can still recognize those by listening to a song at a time with the app as a workaround for now, but I know that not might be ideal for all scenarios I’m working with Apple on trying to find a solution for reverting this change soon, so I’d appreciate your patience in the meantime

Useful for manual scrobbling, but auto scrobbling is buggy

Pretty good app for manual scrobbling, but auto scrobbling just isn’t worth the subscription. Often, it’ll fail to even detect that the song changed. I’m only using the free trial, so I don’t think I’ll subscribe until these issues are addressed. After all, auto scrobbling is supposed to be the selling point of the subscription.

Currently Missing A Main Feature - background scrobbling

This app looks really good in the UI, and the parts of it that work right now work really good. It accurately detects music that’s playing and uploads it to Last.fm. When you have the app open, it is able to automatically scrobble and the individual scrobble work well too. However, the main reason that I looked for an app like this was to scrobble everything in the background with the app closed/phone locked.

This is currently not functional due to an Apple issue and ShazamKit (according to the developers Twitter). Luckily I am using a free trial and I was able to figure this before paying for the app, since the background scrobbling, called Auto Match in this app, is a paid feature. There is no indication in the app description or in the app saying that the feature does not work, you just have to figure that out on your own.

The developer does say that they are working on a workaround, but it is not currently out. I will absolutely come back for this app once the workaround is implemented (or once Apple fixes the Shazam API). Documentation of the issue in the app/App Store description would have been nice.

This app does exactly what I need it to do. I set it up on my iPad mini and it listens and scrobbles while I spin vinyl.

Good scrobbling alternative, wrong tags sometimes though

There is no alternative right now for scrobbling in Russia from Yandex Music on iOS. This is some kind of solution.
But it’s a fulfilment of my childhood dreams - I can scrobble even radio or my vinyl. It’s a Shazam scrobbler.

Good but buggy

I really want to give this app five stars, but auto scrobbling just doesn’t work. So it works great—as long as you’re willing to manually open the app to scrobble every single song you listen to. Maybe it works if you truly subscribe (I was using the free trial)?

Auto Scrobble no longer works

I was enjoying auto scrobble (the reason I subscribed) and not having to manually scribble but the feature no longer works. It says “listening” but does not pick up on the song anymore or scrobble it for me. I wish this would get fixed! Otherwise great app and nice interface

Works Well

Had to update my review. This app barely works anymore. Every 2-3 songs it stops scribbling unless you re-open the app and foreground it again. It’s essentially just another scrobble app - and it’s a very nice one. But what set it apart from the other scrobbling apps, mainly the continuous background scrobbling ability, doesn’t work anymore.

The app I always needed

This app is so amazing, for ages I have dreamed of having a scrobbling app that could work while I’m driving. I have an old car, meaning no Carplay and this is the only way I can scrobble and have my navigation on at the same time legally without having to touch my phone screen at all! I love how it makes use of the live activities feature on iOS. This is the app everyone needs and the subscription is worth every penny! I recommend every single last.fm user to use this app for auto scrobbling instead of using other apps to manually scrobble, thanks again for making such an incredible app!!

Works Well

I mostly use this with SiriusXM and it works well with that app. Enjoy that it works when using headphones and not just for identifying music around you.

This app would be five-star perfect if it worked with CarPlay. I’m sure it’s a limitation out in place by Apple or something but that’s my number one use case and the fact it doesn’t ultimately leaves it’s utility limited.

Easy to use and matching is incredibly accurate

This app has made scrobbling my vinyl listening a breeze. Song matching is easy and accurate, and the dev is incredibly diligent and helpful for any issues. I ran into an auth issue because I didn’t realize that the app had to take my Last fm username as a parameter instead of my email, and they were kind enough to help me get it sorted out. Fantastic app and fantastic support!
