Problem

This is a very good app doesn’t require any sort of sign in or security numbers, all though, the app isn’t a lot of times accurate but other then that it’s good and so are the podcast and I love how you can change the radar to interact time, 24 hours, precipitation, heat index:humidity

I absolutely love this app! It covers ALL 67 Alabama counties and it helps out a lot and if there’s

I absolutely love this app! It covers ALL 67 Alabama counties and it helps out a lot and if there’s a severe thunderstorm or tornado or flash flood warning for ANY county in Alabama they will go on the air and stay on the air until the threat is over!

Great App!

Love James Spann this app is awesome and works well. Only app I use for weather. Love the live video too. Just one thing I wish they’d add (even though it doesn’t matter) is time of sunrise and sunset. Besides that, 5 out of 5

Bad orientation in full screen

I want to love the app and for the most part I do. However, it does have correct orientation when using an iPad. It also does not have correct orientation on phone when trying to view full screen. If you try to cast to a tv in full screen, you get a share that is rotated 90 degrees to the right and you can’t even watch it. Fix the orientations.

Love this app

I love the fact that I can see current radar, weekly forecasts, check up on weather blogs, and live weather reporting from “the man with a plan James Spann!”

What a gift to the entire state!

I’m a MS native who now lives in Chelsea, AL, for the last 10+ years. So, so grateful for Mr Spann and AWN! (And thank you Alabama Power for sponsoring the network!) I tell other folks new to the area to download the AWN app. After paying for ad-free apps for years, Alabama, you’re so lucky to have this amazing service available. Every state should be so lucky. 🍀

Mr Spann’s lifelong dedication to teaching children (and adults) about weather cannot be understated. I’ve seen him at just about every major B’ham event for a noble cause. Whether it’s guest judging the Chili Cook Off to benefit The Exceptional Foundation or Unless U Got Talent which benefits Unless U (look it up!), Mr Spann selflessly gives his time. (And God bless Mrs Spann: she must be so extra special!) Thank you for your dedication to making lives better and people safer.

Great weather team

Was sad to see James leave abc 33/40, until I realized they were launching this. Now you get the same great coverage for the whole state, regardless of which tv market you’re in. Other areas will learn to love him.

Weather information for Alabama

I have high respect for weather and the Alabama Weather Network for their severe weather coverage because it’s great for people who live in Alabama particularly those who just want information about what’s coming our way in regards to severe weather whether you’re from Alabama or not.

Portrait mode

The app automatically displays in portrait mode. I do have the auto-rotate control turned off already and not other app that I have is rotating to portrait mode. I have rebooted my iPad and also deleted and reinstalled the app. What else can I do or is there a bug?

Crash Bug!

Hi, I love this app so much and now it’s my only “weather” app I have on my phone as far as forecasting goes. I can’t open the app without it crashing right now unfortunately and I’ve tried restarting my phone. Hope we can fix it soon.

Does not work

This app will not run on my iPhone 16. I have deleted and redownloaded multiple times. You tap the icon it opens for a few seconds, and then crashes. It continues to send notifications though. How does that happen?!?

iPad

This must just be for phones. When you have this working so it is compatible with iPad (with keyboard), let me know.

Data usage is CRAZY!

James Spann is the BEST! But this app is not. Although I don’t even open the app but a couple times each week, it has become my largest consumer of data! It has cause me to run out of data just 10 days into my billing cycle! Crazy!

Unreliable

The app opens as expected around 1/4 of the time. Constantly freezing and unresponsive. Needed a ton more testing and bug fixes before going public.

So far, so good

One thing I noticed is that the radar on this app seems to be far more accurate than others. LOVE THAT. Otherwise, it seems like most other weather apps. I’ve come across no issues with anything working incorrectly.

Weather information for Alabama

I have high respect for weather and the Alabama Weather Network is great for people who live in Alabama particularly those who want information about the weather conditions whether you’re from Alabama or not.

Data Usage

The actual app itself is pretty nice. At first, it was locking up and wouldn’t let me bypass the screen you first get when you download it. However, within a few days, the app had used 9 GB of cell data when I had only used the app for maybe 15 minutes. I turned off background app refresh using data, and it still accumulated another 1.5 GB after a few days. I hope this problem is fixed, because I do prefer AWN to other weather apps.

app is okay

the app uses wayyyy too much data, i had to turn it off because it used almost 16gb of mobile data in the background 😳 nope thats way too much

Must have weather app for Alabama peps.

App works awesome. Very easy to use and tons of useful information. The alerts when active weather is close by your location is a nice touch. The only weather app I use now.

Great Interface. App has bugs. Stream crashes.

App has a good looking interface and is easy to navigate. For weather information, I give it a 9 out of 10. I downloaded the app to be able to watch James Soann’s forecasts. I like the way that the weather stream is presented. It’s like what the “local on the 8’s” used to be back in the 90’s. Just good weather information. However, the stream crashes and then locks up the app. It takes at least 3 or 4 app restarts (app open and force close) to get the app functional again. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
