Fundamentally useless. Like a separatist government.
Just let me put my documents on Apple wallet like everything else. I don’t want another useless app to do something baked into the very core functionality of a smart phone. How much money did our government waste developing this?
Sigh.

Good Idea, Clunky Execution
That said, I’m confused about the decision to create a separate digital wallet app that serves only one purpose: storing an Alberta health card. If the objective is convenience and simplification, this feels like the opposite. Most people already use existing digital wallets on their phones for payment cards, transit passes, tickets, and other IDs. Adding one more standalone app to manage a single card adds friction rather than reducing it.
Alberta already supports digital transit passes within commonly used wallet systems, which makes this approach even more puzzling. Why not integrate health cards the same way, into platforms people already open daily? That would make adoption more natural and actually feel like modernization.
It also raises a bigger question about long-term vision. Instead of separate apps for each service, it would make more sense to move toward a unified provincial digital ID — one secure identity (digital and physical) that links health care, licenses, and other provincial services in one place. That would reduce duplication, improve usability, and feel like a cohesive system rather than a patchwork of tools.
In its current form, the app feels more like an added layer than a simplification. The idea of a digital health card is solid — the implementation just doesn’t yet match the convenience people expect from digital services.

Update - Poor implementation
Goes round and round in a circle when using 2FA. Keeps taking you to the login prompt every time I enter 2FA

Really of no use
2. You are signed out every time the app is closed
It's far more efficient to just carry the physical card.

No Face ID, only Health card
Why is there no option to add to apple wallet ?
Also, why only health card, why not give options to add driver’s license and vehicle registration

Modern signin missing
Why not create a version of the card that can be put into Apple Wallet?
If you’re going to keep a separate wallet, at least let me sign in using touch or Face ID.
Having your enter a password EACH TIME I open the app does not make it faster than than using a physical card.
You can do better.
