Were my 6 star

After an extensive period of time I have concluded that my “Wrath: proud fervor” has not arrived in my aurorians. Upon getting to the point where I had pulled a 6 star I had unknowingly clicked skip. This then proceeded to freeze my game and leaving me with the only option to restart. I was left shocked to the brim when I had checked to see which 6 star I had gotten. After breakthoughing every single 6 star I had gotten prior before the loss I was left speechless to the core as I had discovered I had not even gotten a single 6 star. I then proceeded to search feverishly for any type of “pity” system or pull history system I could utilize to my advantage, yet to no luck I have come here. Drowning in my tears I promptly proceeded to check multiple times if I had merely past her in my plethora of characters. Yet to no avail I am left here, to search for answers. To any gratuitous and helpful soul, please guide me to the light or I will head to the light of playing more Genshin. After playing this game for over two years, and probably 3, I will be making my permanent ( or temporary) leave of this community and game. To my friends( who no longer play this game), I am sorry, but it seems this is a sign to dedicate my life to my beloved family of hoyoverse men like my future boothill in Honkai star rail.

Sincerely,
Past alchemy star player

Unexpectedly loving it?

I downloaded this coz i was bored and was interested with some character designs which i found out from the same artists of this one other game i played. I planned to play for a bit and leave since games like this are not usually my taste and i got bored easily jumping from games to games, but i got too attached instead lol (lvl 60 now.. since when?! 😂😂). Though got frustated sometimes coz of the gacha (does that wishlist actually works?!), generally speaking this game is pretty generous, seemingly listen to the players and keeps improving over time. The gameplay is simple and satisfying so it’s good to pass time and for beginners but not too easy as it relies on strategy more in late game, characters are interesting, stories are hit or miss but generally decent. I hope in the future it’ll be more popular here so i can get more contents hshshsk <3. Wish you the best, keep improving tourdog!

Really fun game with one glaring issue..

Been playing this game for around 6-7 months now and It’s a really well made game when it comes to the gameplay, music, art and even the story and world building, there’s a surprising amount of depth to it. But the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is because of the gacha pity system, now don’t forget this game at its core is a gacha game but even then the devs are very generous and they provide you with a lot of pulls even if you’ve been playing for a while, your chances of getting a 6 star (highest rarity unit) even go up by 2% each pull after the 50th one! sounds great right? but see the problem is that you’re not guaranteed the banner unit unless you get TWO off banner 6 stars, so you either get lucky or all your resources go down the drain and you never get the desired character.

I hope they rethink that system and make it less of a pain to pull a specific character because I really like this game and I hate when I pull for a character I like only to get shafted and feel like I wasted my pulls.

Dear qrainydayq, Thank you so much for your positive feedback! Moreover, rest assured that we have forwarded your valuable input to the appropriate department, and we will be sure to deliver a better gaming experience for all players. Thank you for your continued support of "Alchemy Stars".

Hands down one of the best games ever.

I’ve played a lot of jrpgs/rpgs but nothing comes close to the quality of this game. I’ve been a fan roughly since this game first released and I’ve been playing practically everyday.
The main storyline is actually rich in substance and not just a forgettable part of the game. The characters in the game “Aurorians” are so diverse in the character designs and personalities. I love that you can chat with them within the terminal and the colossus, it just adds another texture to the game most are lacking.
I always look forward to each new event because I’m always intrigued what new characters and storylines Alchemy Stars will explore next because they’re always different and not something you’d always expect from a gatcha game.
Also, can I just say I adore the Navigator! As a bisexual man for some reason he relates to me on a deep level. Hands down on of my favorite main characters in a rpg. I just love his personality, interactions between his friends, and his growth of being a young man trapped and isolated form the rest of the world for 17 years. Coming to terms with who he his as a person and what he can offer the world being the last of his race is enjoyable to see.
Please keep up the good work and never loose sight of what makes Alchemy Stars so enjoyable for many people. I love this games because it’s not afraid to be different and stray away from what everyone else is doing.

Dear Chase Durbin, Thank you for your positive feedback toward "Alchemy Stars". We are very happy to hear that you are satisfied with the game. Thank you for your continued support and happy gaming!

One of the very few games that are F2P friendly, seriously.

I have been playing this game for a year and I still enjoy it thoroughly! The game mechanics and aurorians are amazing, especially their art and interactions with the navigator. I love the messaging system they have with the aurorians, it’s nice “talking” to them and get a feel of their personality. The levels can be quite challenging (like 12-14), so you have to plan out each team and strategize how to defeat bosses and such. My only complaints about the game is that it can be quite repetitive with the events and with hitting “endgame”, BUT they have added new modes to help players keep playing. It’s very easy to level up characters, though it can take some time and resources but the resources come easy! The game is very casual and, again, very F2P friendly. I definitely recomendable the game, give it a try!

Amazing Game Held Back by Terrible Translation

I love this game. The gameplay is fun, the art is beautiful and high effort, the world is interesting, and the characters are unique and engaging. Pity feels generous, I love the costumes, and it’s the kind of game I’d spend money on just because I like it.

The problem comes with the absolutely godawful translation, particularly in main story segments. It’s not just awkwardly phrased, with word choices that feel unnatural in English — it’s riddled with typos at points, and becomes incredibly difficult to understand. It’s a shame, because I am actually interested in the story, and it’s made getting other people into the game incredibly hard.

Please, please hire an editor that speaks English fluently to go through the main story so they can correct mistakes and smooth out the translation. Heck, I’d do it myself for free if I didn’t think putting in a support ticket about all the typos wouldn’t get it lost forever.

A little upset

I love this game the art, gameplay, and music are all so nice but I do have a problem with the Born To Act thing it just cost to much I originally thought I would pay ten dollars get the tickets spin ten times and get the outfit. I was like I really like this game and I want to support it but when I realized that the tickets needed to spin grew with every spin I got a little upset because I don’t have all the money in the world but I gave it a try. I spent a little over THIRTY DOLLARS and I still wasn’t able to get the outfit for him and Charon is one of my favorite characters from this game I also had one other item that was possible to get so that means I would have had to spend over fifty dollars for it to be guaranteed. My luck is absolutely horrible so what I’m say is that the system for it seems pretty unfair especially if you have bad luck and no money. It would have been ten times better if you just payed ten dollars got ten tickets and are able to spin ten times instead of like three. This was ,what I feel, a low move to make I know it makes more money but I feel that there will be many unsatisfied customers like me. I just thought I should say this because it just felt right. So if there is a way could make it a bit more fair instead of luck and how much money you have based that would be nice. And I’m broke know so that’s not making me fill any better.

An Outstanding Game, But There’s A Small Issue

Okay, so I’ve been playing Alchemy Stars for almost a year now, or have at least known of its existence for that long. It’s one of my favorite pastimes and is also a very fun strategy game, which is a nice alternative compared to the other games I play.
I’m really glad I gave this one a chance. It has been worth every minute.
I ran into an issue a few months ago, however, that forced me to set this masterpiece down, and it had something to do with a “manifest issue.” I went to the official Discord and all I got was “get a VPN and update to this version.”
I’m not sure if this is an ongoing problem we can get the developers to fix, but if this can get fixed, I would most definitely pick it up once more.

Never Played a Gacha that I like…

Until this game! This game is TEEMING with content, and developers are SUPER generous with resources making a F2P totally feasible. There are lots of events, and the store is MOSTLY cosmetics (there are a couple of items that can help refill your Prism [ingame energy] but there are also lots of other activities you can enjoy while it reloads.

They recently added “Cloud Gardens” an idle sim like experience that connects to the main game, and it’s extremely fun to see your collected characters walk around freely.

Combat is fun and easy, but mastering it is tough! You get the whole story for free, and the grind is actually super fun. Love this game! I’ve been playing for a month, and have spent a total of less than $10 USD (I was so impressed that I bought the monthly pass [which isn’t a huge need; I just wanted to support this team, they’ve made a wonderful product!], and two characters that can be organically unlocked for free eventually [again, supporting the team!].

As a dad with kids and a family life, it’s an awesome way to get some light gaming in. Totally recommend!

Unique Gameplay and Great Characters

To preface this review, I’ve been playing various gacha games for a long while now. However, the only ones that have kept me playing are mainly because they’re based on properties I was interested in before finding the game, i.e. DBZ Dokkan Battle and Fire Emblem Heroes.

I saw an ad for Alchemy Stars last summer during its release and thought it looked solid, so I gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised with the gameplay and found it pretty entertaining, and the characters were stellar. Unfortunately, I lost interest and only picked it back up last month, but I am very glad I gave it another go. The gameplay is unique enough to stand out from other similar games, and the characters are very enjoyable and the ways to interact with them are a lot of fun. The game also gives you plenty of summoning currency to build teams, and even many of the lower rarity units are viable enough to become a staple on some teams.

Overall, if you’re looking for a game with a fun technofantasy vibe with great gameplay and story, you won’t be disappointed by Alchemy Stars.

Dying cash grab game

Don’t bother. Played through most of the game and while it’s not a p2w it’s certainly not f2p friendly. The content is very barebones and I don’t understand how it has 4.9 rating!! One event going on for new characters, only way to pull for one is if you spend about 25 dollars. Just to pull for them. Yeah not worth it and it’s still rng who you get. This game has been out for a while yet they still have a lot of weird bugs and translation errors that make the story cringe and awkward. It’s literally a waifu cringe party as you progress. Concept is cool but they mess it up themselves in certain battles that are meant to just irritate the heck out of you. It’s not fun and just becomes a chore to play in the long run. From the same company that made Genshin yet this game feels like it was made in a week and just designed to rip you from your money, not Diablo immortal bad but close to it.

Interesting game, lost me when there’s no female player

There should really be a gender option for playable character, there’s no reason this should be or has to be limited to a male player and imo alienates a lot of potential female player bases. This isn’t just me either, there’s multiple studies done including one recently published by riot that say women almost exclusively play female playable characters or don’t play games without them.

I thought it would basically be left ignored or ambiguous until I got to stage 3-3 and it takes you into a 3rd person RPG style area and I immediately lost interest when there’s plenty of other gachas which don’t force a male perspective. It’s a shame too because the gameplay was fun an unique, just glad I found out before spending money.

Too high hopes

I played the game and downloaded it during prerelease, in the beginning I had incredibly high hopes for characters, story and art. Over time I have become increasingly more disappointed. The game has prioritized fan service to good story and character releases, and has fallen to that unfortunate fate that most gacha games do.

Its honestly upsetting that a game with the potential to make cool and interesting characters with engaging backstory has decided that the bare minimum, same face, big chested “waifu” characters are all the fans want, which is absolutely untrue. Myself and many others I know are very disappointed.

They have a hand full of characters that aren’t like this (they get little to no attention) and the mechanics and art are fine. I used to be able to look past a couple fanservice-y things but now that it has taken over the game I most likely will not touch it again. Honestly the word to describe this is just straight up lame.

Great game but flawed

This is one of my favorite games I have, but some things make it annoying. The first one and the reason for this review is for two different ‘character banners’ are available. They was one character I wanted at the time (a five star, not the 6 star also on the banner) so I spent everything wish I had to get him and then a few days after I got him, I just got a free copy from an event. And after some sorry I decided I wanted the 6 star on the OTHER banner, but the chances of getting them with absolutely nothing is very low. Basically I just wish, you could’ve put up some form of disclaimer on the wishing screen that the 5 star characters on both of these banners would be obtainable for free. So now I’m angry. Another annoying thing about it is that it will not turn off. If I fall asleep while it’s playing, it won’t turn off until my phone dies while I’m asleep, losing more rewards from the ‘auto battles’ I tried to do while I lay awake in the darkness. But then I wake up and I have a dead phone, no rewards, and yeah it’s just really annoying.

On the plus side I’ve been playing this game for more than a year now so at least it’s fun enough for me to keep playing.

Dear stormscapeartx, We really appreciate you leaving a well-thought review regarding our game. We will definitely pass this on to our team who works on this matter so we can give you a better gaming experience. We hope for your continued support of "Alchemy Stars" Happy Gaming!

Really good and worth giving it a try, even casually.

There are many things I enjoy about the game, but if I had to choose one thing it would be the effectiveness of the writing to produce a feeling of immersion. The dialogues feel really on-point and I’ve never felt put off by anything. Besides the writing, the music is good and the gameplay, although different from most games I had tried before, is easy to get into once you play a little bit.
I consider it’s worth giving it a try, because it’s enjoyable and because it’s possible for players to return after periods of inactivity (like in my case) and still find enjoyment in the game.

Highly enjoyable game, but grinding is a chore

Look, this game gets sooo much right. Great art, interesting character designs, engaging and interesting gameplay, fun events, constantly updating content, the list goes on. But what has made me leave the game for months at a time is the GRINDING!!! It just boggles my mind that with everything else the developers do right with this game, they keep flubbing it with the grinding. When you are grinding for materials or currency, you have to grind in real time. You can’t sweep. You can’t spend stamina and then collect materials later after a set amount of time. It wasnt a huge issue until I got around chapter 7. Now I’m in Chapter 8 and need several more characters at tier 3 to get past a boss. 15 rounds grinding at real time to get a fraction of the needed upgrade materials is excruciating! I want to play the game! And no, leaving the ipad on for an hour or two isnt a solution. You cant do anything while its running. It is so annoying. Really hope this gets fixed soon so I can enjoy the game more.

Unique, fun, as hard on the wallet as you want it to be

The color path battle system is what got me hooked initially. Well thought out and unique.

I’ve been playing since release and really haven’t lost interest thanks to variety of units, great storyline that is interesting enough to make me excited for each update. They’ve also made some additions to the game - some better than others, but all interesting. As for cost, I’ve bought one of the special passes and the monthly pass and a couple other things, but I’m impressed with how much you can do even if you don’t spend. As with all gachas if you really must have something, prepare to pay (or be patient). It’s a fun game so saving for what you really want isn’t much of a chore.

Undeniably Fun and Generous

I was skeptical at first, as most gacha games lately have gotten more and more greedy and anti-player. This game is not like that. It is super generous, rewarding plenty of free currency through story mode and events so that you have a chance to get characters you want.

The question is: is it actually fun? Yes! It’s a really unique type of game in terms of the gameplay that will challenge you to understand its systems and put together complementary teams. The base building aspect is really great as well.

I don’t normally write reviews but I had to for this game because it just exemplifies what the mobile gaming industry could be in a better world. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Fun Gacha Game!

I’ve played a few gacha/mobile games over the years, and alchemy stars has to be one of my favorites! A unique fighting system which is more engaging through the need to use strategy in approaching how to best navigate the map to do the most damage/set up your team to win battles. They’re also always creating new content to continue the story line, or make new things to keep players engaged (cloud gardens update with the 1 year anniversary update)!

My only suggestion for a future update, would be to be able to select at least multiples of 10 when transmuting colossus patches into fireflies, which are used to create materials to ascend aurians. It gets tiring very quickly having to click a colossal patch one by one, and an update to fix that would be much appreciated!

Awesome design, game concept but needs sweep system

The bad: To start with, I think the days of modern Gacha games requiring you to farm staging by putting something in Auto-Repeat and setting down your phone for a few hours are way in the past. Unfortunately, this is one of those games.

The good: The art and unit design is great, the events are fun and not time consuming or intrusive, the story is interesting, having the guaranteed 5 star on initial 10 pulls is very nice. There’s enough stuff to keep you busy in the game if you wanted to spend the time in there each day, even late game. Lastly, the gameplay mechanic is unique and fun and you really enjoy building up your units.

However, no matter how much good they add to the game this one bad thing makes it very unappealing as a game to play long term. I hope Tourdog does the right thing and adds a sweep/offline dispatch system so that this game competes with modern gachas because, honestly, it’s one of a kind and appealing enough to be everyone’s 2nd or 3rd gacha.
