Aldermere is a maker's bench for the two calculations that decide whether a joint holds: which drill to reach for, and how far the wood will move. Everything runs on-device, with no account and nothing to load. Fastener Bench: choose a metric bolt, an imperial machine screw, or a wood screw, set the size and thread pitch, and read back the tap drill, clearance hole, and pilot, shank and countersink sizes together — each in millimetres and inches, with the nearest real drill bit named so you can pull it straight from the index. Wood Movement Bench: pick a species, the board width, and the grain (flatsawn, quartersawn or riftsawn), then enter your summer and winter humidity. It works out how far the board will swell and shrink across the seasons, the expansion gap to leave, and the equilibrium moisture content for your shop. Save any reading to your bench to check again later, share it as plain text, and keep working whether or not you have signal. Two focused tools, one tidy chalkboard.
