Fake news

Thank you for your review. Severe thunderstorm warnings in Alertable come directly from Environment Canada. For information on when a thunderstorm alert will be issued please visit https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/types-weather-forecasts-use/public/criteria-alerts.html#severeThunderstorm

Terrible UI
There are also way too many pointless alert types like council meetings and community surveys. They clutter the interface and distract from the alerts that matter. The only reason this app doesn’t get one star is because it does a decent job with critical alerts—many of which users would miss otherwise. That’s the only thing keeping it afloat. The government contractor (think arrive can app) keeps sending test alerts because the public warning system is inadequate—basically broken. Alerts should work without mobile data like they do in other countries. Even with data, people still miss them. That's why I give the app an extra star.
Another missing feature: the ability to silence specific types of alerts. I don’t need to be notified about a small car ferry 40 km away that only runs during weekday rush hours and serves a small local population. That kind of alert is irrelevant and clutters the feed. There should be an “ignore this kind of alert in the future” option to stop these low-priority and Irrelevant notifications from showing up.

Thank you for your feedback. We will share this with our developers. Did you know that within the settings of the app you can choose what types of alerts you receive? You can also choose to have non-critical alerts play with a sound or not. If you need any help with this please contact us at info@peasi.com.
Very bad
I had to give it a star to make this review so I think you owe me a star.

Thank you for your feedback. The access code in the app is only applicable if you have been invited to receive internal alerts from an organization. For public alerts the access code in the app is not necessary.
