This new update sucks
Soon as I buy a subscription, the new update comes out and this app now sucks
No longer useful
This app was phenomenal about 5 years ago. It’s become increasingly unusable at each app update, the mismanagement and terrible leadership have removed every useful feature and replaced it with the cheapest of advertising videos. Looking out the window yourself is more useful than this app. I use to recommend it, but rescind that now. Good luck trying to use it for anything at all.

Dont waste your time
I was using Presense but it got deprecated. Very straightfoward, Presese detected motion, recorded, sent to cloud, done. This afred thing detects motion, sends a notification and doesnt record anything. If my ipad gets stolen (i use the ipad as a camera) I wouldve lost my stuff, my ipad and the $7 dollars Im paying to these guys.
There should be no instructions on how to operate this. I dont know what you guys are doing to get such great reviews but I guess shame on me thinking the app store is a legitimate marketplace

camera bricked after failed firmware update no refund or return offered
Amelia refuses to return a camera that is no longer functioning at all. It is a complete brick. It was brick during the firmware update even though the camera right next to it receive the update just fine. There is no phone number for customer support. They will not return the camera. I put in two customer support request no responsibility. I am out $30. This has been installed for about two weeks no return has been offered no response from the developer no response from customer support you people are lazy. It is pointless to try to do business with you. You have provided garbage service and garbage hardware. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I got this app in 2021 and paid the $99 for a year. I place was broken into and all the person had to do was get the phone and factory reset it Alfred does not store anything, none of your footage is saved and they refuse to help me.!!

I tried pairing my iPhone 12 Mini with my iPhone 17 and it wouldn’t work. It kept saying to scan the QR code which wasn’t working with either phone so I canceled my subscription. It used to work just fine!!!
a non secure security camera
I can't show a screenshot to prove myself, so you'll just have to trust me as some random person online. After I signed up for a free trial of AlfredCamera on my device, I received an email. When I looked at the email, I noticed the link it included to the web viewer was "http://alfred.computer". There might be a technical reason for this that I don’t know about, since I don’t understand all the details of the internet, but from what I do know, using a non-secure website link (http instead of https) is basically the same as giving anyone open access to your data. In this case, it’s meant to be a 'home security' system, which I’d want to keep private and safe, but that’s not easy to do.
Why do people trust these companies with such sensitive information about their homes? Nothing about security cameras or electronic devices is completely safe. They can be hacked, hacked into, or tampered with. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to take that risk. Just don’t be surprised if someone ends up knowing details about your home and when you’re there, especially if you don’t read all the small print when signing up. On a separate and related note, often, companies sell insurance plans or have "privacy policies" that are really just ways to limit their own liability, not really protecting you. If you read the policies carefully, you’d see that—most are pretty much the same.
If you're not sure about all this, it’s worth brushing up on critical thinking, maybe go back to basics. I’m just sharing my opinion based on what I’ve seen and learned. Honestly, I don’t claim to be an expert—just someone who thinks carefully about these things.

My Alfred ‘free’ review
Awesome app! for real set up my old android phone as the camera and I watch, control and interact with my new regular phone. The basic free non-pay operational mode settings let me watch control flash on my old phone and also voice and siren options. It has power saving mode, low light and motion detection. All for the generic non-pay option. And it was easy as heck to install and set up. .

The developer responded to this review suggesting I contact customer support, I did contact customer support several days ago and got no response.
I like the app and even paid subscription but it only records short clips of ( to 10 seconds duration then stops recording and 1 second later starts a new recording of the same event. In 1 minute I get a dozen alerts to a dozen videos of the same event even with continuous recording turned on.
It would be so easy to allow the user to select the recording length but the developer doesn’t see it that way. Still no response from customer response. All recordings 5 seconds in length with no option to extend record time.

The entire gimmick of AlfredCamera is using your own old hardware, but they recently pushed updates that completely blocked my iOS 12 and Android 4 devices—even though I was already a paying customer! I paid $60 for the premium service and absolutely nothing works: Forced 4:3 Aspect Ratio: The 16:9 ratio does not work whatsoever. Every single video is forced into a stretched 4:3 box, regardless of whether I use a brand-new phone or an older device. Fake "HD" Quality: They charge you more to increase video quality, but it is highway robbery. All of my videos are highly compressed SD or worse. Not a single video streams in HD, let alone 4K. Constant Errors: The app constantly throws false errors saying my "camera is set to low resolution" when it is absolutely not. Broken Web Viewer: The website portal completely fails to record or log motion detection. Unwanted Features: Instead of fixing these core issues, the developers added a garbage Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature no one asked for. My overall video quality actually went down after upgrading to Premium. [1] This service is broken, and customer support ignores what users actually ask for. Save your money and look elsewhere.
