Alice in Picture Frame

“The Mimicry Frames” is an art installation featuring the enchanting characters from Alice in Wonderland, allowing visitors to interact with them through picture frames. When you stand in front of a frame, the illustrated characters inside begin to move, mimicking your poses. Some frames have them waving back at you as they gaze in your direction. It captures the childhood mystery we’ve all imagined — what if someone inside paintings secretly came to life during the night? This piece was originally created for the Alice in Wonderland exhibition that toured across Japan from 2019 to 2020.
