Alpha-Board

Alpha-Board is an assistive communication board for iPhone and iPad. It helps people who benefit from AAC-style communication build and speak messages using large accessible alphabet groups, quick needs, phrase cards, personal vocabulary, context boards, message templates, emergency phrases, and text-to-speech. The app is intended for users who need a calm, private, offline-capable way to communicate through touch, VoiceOver, Voice Control, Switch Control, Full Keyboard Access, Apple Eye Tracking, Dwell Control, or carer-assisted input. Carers and therapists can help personalise phrases, vocabulary, profiles, context boards, printable boards, and handoff information. Alpha-Board is local-first and does not require an account, analytics, a backend, camera access, raw eye-tracking collection, or cloud AI. Optional iCloud sync can be enabled by the user if they want Apple iCloud-based syncing across their own devices. The core communication loop remains available without network access: open the app, select letters or phrases, and speak the message. Alpha-Board is an assistive communication tool. It is not a medical device, does not provide diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, or clinical outcomes, and does not contact emergency services automatically.
