Best find of the year for researchers and academic people, but…

When I first got to know about arXiv one of the first things I did was search for whether it had a standalone app. But there was no official app at that time, so when I got to know about the app release through twitter the first thing I did was to download it and use it thoroughly, and as a user I have some recommendations regarding both some additional features and the UI/UX.

AddOns:
-Add “similar paper” feature.
-Guide for beginner to “how to read research paper.”
-Before you read this paper section.
-Comments atleast by top researchers on briefs and explore page.
-Researchers profile should be clickable.
-Names of researchers should be clickable in briefs section.
-There should be assistant in the scroll and/or explore itself to ask question from the paper there itself.
-Latest releases section.
-Most anticipated researches and papers section.
-Option to join different communities for specific topics (maths, ai).
-Filter based on institution/company/universities and professors/researchers.
-If possible let users see email (official) of researchers with their consent.
-The most useful feature I would want as a user would be a default section or prompt in Blog section where users can understand paper/research “like a 5/10 year old”, please put this.
-Give users choice to have multiple feeds where I can choose different topics so that if I want to read let’s suppose mathematics once a week I don’t need to search for it, I can simply switch to the feed i have created on mathematics.
-Please give users a feature to add the app as widget on his app.
-Future perspective =>
1. Let users visualise very highly top trending paper so that it is easy to understand and read, and make people stay more on app rather than going to gpt or some other app to understand in depth/simple.
2. Let researchers upload their Google notebook podcast of their research papers or lets them simply connect their google notebooks to arXiv app (that would be awesome).
-At last regarding visuals please make briefs more organized.

I know it’s too much to ask for 😅 but would be really awesome if implemented.

Finally found the best curation of research

I’ve been looking for the perfect digest of research for years. No app or twitter feed has ever been able to get preferences as well as the Recommended feed on this app. I find myself returning to this app everyday to stay on top of the latest AI research!

Worth the wait

I have been following and using alphaxiv since the beginning and it has become my goto site for anything paper related. Really a life changing site and I have always wanted an app for reading on my phone, iPad, etc. I felt it was missing for the longest time, but now no more! This app has really elevated my paper experience.

Amazing app

This is one of the most amazing apps I’ve ever used in my life. Alphaxiv is truly a godsend without this application I would not be able to stay up-to-date with the most important research in the world when it comes to computer science and honestly not even just computer science, just everything in general. Alphaxiv is truly an amazing website and application and I would recommend everyone to download and use the app

Research Need

This is a great application, and very useful for all my computer science endeavors. I love being able to collaborate with other great minds across the world! The UI is tastefully done, props to the design team! Carry on the great work boys!

Great to see a mobile app!

Great to see the mobile app! Would love if we could incorporate the “notes” section as well. Also the popup when clicking on a citation

Response from developer

Hi! You can already browse your paper notes! Just press on the three-dot menu in the top right corner while on a paper and you should see "My Notes" there. You can also select part of the text and choose "Highlight" to add a new note.

Missing Features

Been waiting for this app for awhile! However on crucial thing that needs to be added is “My Library” tab!

Response from developer

Glad you enjoy it! The library is now out, enjoy 😎

Super useful!

Great app for research
