About

Please note: the app is available in German only. The official avalanche danger for your ski area, showing only what is valid right now. AlpiCheck shows the bulletins of the avalanche warning services for 169 ski areas in Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Bavaria. AVALANCHE BULLETIN • Danger level 1–5 on the European scale, split by elevation where the warning service provides it • Avalanche problems with the affected aspects, tendency and the warning service's text • One ski area, several warning regions: the highest level of all valid bulletins for its micro-regions, with its origin. If part is missing, it says "at least level X" • Valid bulletins only: if one has expired, is missing or the service is unreachable, you see "no current bulletin" with a link to the official bulletin, never an old or estimated level • Offline bulletin: save it in advance; without signal the app shows it as long as it is valid WEATHER AND SNOW • Snow depth in the valley and on the mountain from the nearest suitable weather station, with name, elevation, distance and time; without a station, a model value marked "≈" • Temperature, wind, new snow and snow line from open data of the weather services • Crowd forecast: an estimate based on school holidays, weekday and weather • Discover: filter ski areas by region, piste kilometres, summit elevation, crowds and temperature MAP • 169 ski areas, each in the official EAWS colour of its danger level and with the level as a number • Optional slope-angle layer, standard, satellite and hybrid map, ski area search IN THE TERRAIN • 3-second check: inclinometer and compass provide slope angle and aspect, the bulletin the level. The result is a rough orientation using a simplified rule of thumb based on the reduction method. It does not clear a slope • Inclinometer: slope angle, aspect and altitude; steepness is classified neutrally, from "moderately steep" to "extremely steep" • Checklists for off-piste, cross-country and alpine skiing, plus your own lists EMERGENCY • SOS at the top of the overview opens the emergency screen; quick access always dials 112 • Below it, the mountain rescue of the country you are in (Austria 140, Switzerland 1414, Valais 144, Italy 118), with a note on the mobile network. If your location is inaccurate or near a border, 112 applies • Show and share your coordinates, emergency steps, reporting an avalanche without buried people to the right place ALSO INCLUDED • Home Screen and Lock Screen widget with the danger level for your region • Siri shortcut (German phrase "Lawinengefahr AlpiCheck") • My season: ski days, distance and calories from your ski workouts in Apple Health (optional, read-only) • Light or dark appearance, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver and Reduce Motion During the off-season (usually May to November) the warning services publish no bulletins. ALPICHECK PRO Always free: bulletins, offline bulletin, map, emergency, inclinometer and 3-second check. Pro adds planning comfort: – Weather and crowd forecast for 7 days instead of 3 days or today only – Discover for all 7 days instead of today only – Unlimited favourites instead of 3 Purchase options: – Yearly subscription (7 days free with your first subscription) and monthly subscription, billed at the price shown. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Cancel any time in your Apple Account settings. – Season Pass 2026/27: one-time purchase, valid from purchase until 31 May 2027 inclusive (German time), does not renew Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. IMPORTANT AlpiCheck summarises the bulletin and does not replace the full official bulletin, avalanche training or your own assessment on site. The official bulletin of the warning service always prevails. Terms of Use: https://alpicheck.de/terms.html Privacy Policy: https://alpicheck.de/privacy.html

What's New in AlpiCheck

1.2.2

October 21, 2026

• New area detail: large danger level with elevation band (“above 1,800 m level 3, below 2”) and valid-until time at a glance. • First launch: pick your ski areas during setup. • 3-second check: you now choose slope and aspect yourself – nothing is preselected. The slope graphic is drawn to scale. • Crowd levels no longer look like a danger level: neutral badge instead of a coloured number. • Checklists for piste and sidecountry; larger tap targets, better readability with large text.
