The final fix in the group of modifications to the display of results in the Summary tab. This time, switching between application views, including switching to the Summary tab, has been optimized. This is especially visible in the large number of charts from the last few years.

Can’t change units

Everyone says they have a Barometer app. And they give you your GPS altitude. This one at least appears to use the pressure sensor. However it doesn’t work in US units. And I’m not sitting with a calculator to do the conversions the developer is too lazy to write.

The developer makes every effort to make the application the best it can be and develops it in his free time after work hours. So I apologize to everyone for my laziness and delivering the application that I am able to make. The minimum height that can be read from the barometer is 1 meter. This is determined by the API provided by Apple. So there is no way to convert it to smaller units, e.g. feet.

How does Alti-watcher track my climbs?

Alti-watcher initially uses GPS for location and altitude, then switches to the built-in barometer for more accurate readings. It records meters climbed and trail profiles, with an option to pause and resume recordings.

What kind of data does Alti-watcher present?

It provides daily, monthly, and total altitude gain summaries. Monthly graphs show results for the current and previous months, with the best daily result highlighted. Yearly graphs show current and previous years' results, up to 10 years can be displayed.

Can I save and share my routes with Alti-watcher?

Yes, route profile charts can be saved to disk in JPG format, allowing you to share them with friends. You can also name and delete saved route profiles.

Does Alti-watcher have audio alerts?

Yes, Alti-watcher can play a sound every 20 meters climbed or descended by default. This value is adjustable or can be turned off, which is useful when hiking with your phone in a backpack.

What are the recording limitations in Alti-watcher?

Recording stops automatically after 8 hours, but this can be adjusted between 4 and 48 hours. A high refresh rate mode allows for 1-second time period recording for profile charts, but results are not saved in this mode.

Is Alti-watcher accurate in different temperatures?

The application allows for calibration of the barometer within a selected temperature range to correct altitude readings. This is presented as a thermometer with appropriate color in the altimeter view.

Does Alti-watcher collect or transfer my data?

No, the application does not collect or transfer any data. Database backups are stored locally on the phone for restoration purposes and are not transferred anywhere.
