It combines GPS with your device barometer to show your height above sea level, accurate to a few metres and steady enough to trust. WHY TWO SENSORS GPS knows where sea level is, but its altitude reading drifts by ten metres or more while you stand perfectly still. A barometer is precise to the centimetre for changes in height, but it has no idea where sea level is and wanders with the weather. Altitude Measure anchors one to the other. You get the absolute reference of GPS with the steadiness of the barometer, so the number stops jumping around when you are not moving.
