Amazing
I love this app. It's so much fun and I've already had a great time making a couple of different ambient scenes. What I'd really like to know is why my ambience creations won't accept any categories or tags. I'd really like a hint if possible, but other than that it's exactly what I was looking for.

Need the ability to play in background
I love this app it’s the only background audio player I’ve found that I like…but it’s super annoying having to keep the app open and onscreen all the time in order for it to play. Completely drains my battery :(

Used to be a favourite, now unusable.
I used to use this regularly to help focus, however since the last update (I know years ago!) I’ve hated using it. It won’t work when your phone is locked or if you come out of the app even if it’s still open in the background. I don’t want to have my phone unlocked all the time as not only is it a security risk, it drains the battery. I went to recommend this recently but was reminded about how un-user friendly it is now, which has prompted this review. Please update it to work properly.

Great sounds but can’t play in background
I love this app in many ways, but it’s not helpful when I need something to play without being in the app. It’s basically useless unless you are sitting in the app and don’t let your phone sleep ever. I really wish they’d work on that feature.

Great, until it wasn't
I used this app for years and it was great. Around the iOS 15 update, suddenly it only worked with the app open and my phone unlocked. Canceled my subscription and sent an email at the time, recieved a response that it would be looked into. That was at least a year ago now and the issue seems to not have been resolved. Loved ambient mixer for a long time, as it was the only thing that made me fall asleep regularly. Sad to have lost something I loved so much.

Great for DND BUT….
So this app works really well for creating ambient sounds for our DND games. It can be a little rough to use at times (and feels a little archaic in its design) but it gets the job done…and better than most. You have a lot of control over every sound you use to set the scene. The flirty bar maiden a little too loud in the back…just turn her down and say how often you want to hear her.
BUT, I paid for a monthly subscription to their premium service. Everything seems great except I still get ads. And they aren’t even in English 🙄. I want this fixed please.

Doesn’t play in the background
I really loved the website, and was happy to see an app. Sadly, I needed it for sleep and you can’t listen to the sounds if you don’t have the app open.
Was good but
Now I can’t like or favorite anything anymore. It keeps forcing me to edit the thing in listentiong to instead of tea the description or liking it. I also can’t listen to it outside of the app like other songs elsewhere 😒
It’s alright but…
It lags quite a lot, and you can’t play anything when you’re not on the app. What’s the point for a sleep timer if it won’t play when my phone is off? Good prices for premium though, just bought a month.
Fix the ability to play in background
The entire point of this app is to turn it on and then use your phone for other things. The fact that it only plays while the app is active makes it worthless. When fixed, this will become a 5 star review
Good but..
I love the tracks but because it won’t play with the screen locked I barely use it. I’d love to use the track while laying in bed but can’t leave the screen on the entire time. Hopefully this issue will be resolved in an upcoming update?

Web version is great. You get all of the same features of the web version in the app, but it will not play the audio if your screen is locked. :/

So close to phenomenal!
After years (and many hours) of using it I can say the full website version at Ambient-Mixer seems to be perfect--10/10 and kudos to the designers! The mobile app seems to have one key element missing but I am not sure if it is really the app or something to do with iOS limitations. It's the ability to control the relative volume of individual channels, unlike the website version (the mobile app's sliders move, but seemingly to no effect.)
You can get around it to an extent by making sure to choose audio files that are already at the final relative volume you want to listen to, but it falls short of the phenomenal flexibility of the website version. (Note that even saving a mix on the website at specified relative volumes for each channel will not affect what is playing in the app; all audio files/channels seem to simply play at full volume in the app, regardless of what was saved as a preference elsewhere.)
Still, it is a very cool app so many thanks to the designers!

Won’t play unless open
This app won’t play sound unless it is open on your screen. Huge battery killer. The sounds are great, but it’s unusable in this mode.

this app was good but now it stops playing the second you close the app when it didn’t do that before if i doesn’t work when i close the app then it’s kind of useless please fix
Great for a while
I’ve been using this app for quite a while now it has been great loved all of the tracks that you could choose and listen to and I had a very wide variety. However recently I noticed that the app only plays as long as I’m in the app. It used to be that I could turn the app on and then my phone screen off and it would still play but now my phone has to be on the whole time for it to work. Still love to use it but that’s a major setback.

This app is amazing and has great sounds you can listen to and create. The only negative I have about this app is that whenever you leave the app or your phone turns off the app doesn’t work.
Good, but could be fixed
I really like the app, it doesn’t crash, and is well organized, but I would like to be able to leave the app or turn off my phone without the sound stopping. Whenever my phone shuts off, or ifI leave the app, the sound I had playing stops and it would be a much better app if Icould turn off my phone.
