Can’t remove Date and Time stamp

The Title explains my experience!

Mr fix it man

Love it already caught door dash messing up on dropping food off, also caught Walmart, leaving my pop on top of their car and taking off

Simple. Gets the job done.

Great way to view recorded videos and get alerts when you have movement on your Amcrest cameras. It’s be nice to have a seekbar when viewing playing back recorded videos. Another nice feature would be to link two or more cameras together when one of them is triggered to record to get another point of view when one camera isn’t active because an object is out of the current motion zone but will be within the next 5-10 seconds.

A few disappointments

I’ve been an Amcrest View Pro user for many years and was disappointed that the Amcrest Smart Home didn’t integrate with the pro version. I don’t like having to use two apps to monitor cameras at home. Video quality for the smart home is also not quite as good. And for whatever reason, it refuses to remember my password even though I’ve got the Face ID verification setting on. Very frustrating.

Full screen

Was great but now the app won’t allow me to use full screen view anymore

Perfect for what I need!!

This little camera is awesome. I needed a pet cam just to keep an eye on my dog and it’s working beautifully.

Multi year user

The system is great. I use it for our property and remote property. I suggest Armcrest to anyone who asks me what system I use.

3 reasons not to purchase Amcrest products

1. I switched my WiFi networks at home and the Amcrest smart hub app has no capability to switch the AB2wf Camera and hub to a different WiFi network. I have called tech support 9 times and counting as I refuse to accept that this cannot be done.

Troubleshooting included factory resetting the devices, power cycling them, deleting the app, reinstalling the app, and there is no way to change networks. Support then pawned off to the smart hub team which I had to initiate by filling out an online request instead of support internally contacting that team.

The smart hub team now wants to pass me off to product replacement -which will only replace if purchased within 12 months.

So I created my own resolution by switching back to my old WiFi. And guess what?! The app will not accept the camera and hub on the original network it was on in the first place!

So buy these products and just know that there is no foresight that allows a simple task of switching networks.

2. The app logs you out so you cannot timely view your camera or respond to someone at the door. Logging in may only take you 20 or so seconds but then the feeds have to refresh which takes more than 60 seconds.

3. Only one device can view the camera at a time and it auto kicks out all other devices. So what good is this if 2 people may need to monitor the camera.

They need to take all products off the shelves and go back to the development drawing board.

I will be filing a BBB complaint because This company does not stand behind their products.

Apple login is not Apple login

The whole point of an Apple login is to not then have to make an in-app account.

The app works well other than this. It was impossible to get devices connected without giving your life details. Password fields didn’t allow paste.

Needs big improvements.

App logs you out so when someone at your door you can’t interact

I find that when someone rings my doorbell and I try to talk to them, the app has logged me out. There’s a facial recognition option on the app, but it doesn’t ever work so then you have to type the password.
So imagine you hear someone ringing your doorbell and you go to the app but before you can interact with them, you have to go figure out what your password is and log back in and then by the time you do that they’re already gone. This has been this way for years. It seems like they have no interest in fixing anything about it.

The other problem is is the battery in the doorbell camera died, and it is not replaceable so every time someone rings the doorbell, the doorbell, camera reboots. I don’t understand the thought process that would cause one to reach the point of believing that this is actually a viable design.

I’m guessing it was a Korean or Chinese design because that fits right in line with their ability to make a product work about 50 to 60% correctly.

Dependable

I love Amcrest it is very dependable easy to navigate and fast response to view

Dumb & forgetful

I have a doorbell cam. The device is used locally there is no need or use for Internet access for the device or the application. Sadly, the motion detection of the device relies on the camera only and seeing changes in pixels captured. Therefore, any shadows, wind or sun will set off the motion detector and start capturing video. I’ve seen bugs at night, attracted to the infrared light that the camera emits and set off the motion detection. What is beyond frustrating is that the application refuses to remember to stay logged in or allow me to use Face ID to login on my iPhone. given there is really no need or reason to log onto something or log out of something because it is merely a local network camera storing information locally on a SD card however, each time I open the application, it seems to forget that I was logged in so it logged me out. I have to login again and using the application rarely I always forget the password and hence have to reset my password each and every time I use the application rendering the application it’s motion detection pretty useless. I gave the application and the doorbell cam one star because yes, it does kind of sort of work locally however requires much much more polish to be and actually usable and viable product.

Night vision should be an option on the home screen not just in settings.

Causes dogs to bark nonstop

I've had Amcrest cameras for 7 years and have used this app for 4 of those years. While the overall app works fine, the lack of any built-in sound choice means the iPhone default sound is used, which so does every other cheap app. Now the dogs bark every time I get a generic notification on my phone. Please, please add a sound, any sound to the app

Fraud artists

2 camera model is absolute trash and conveniently there’s no way to unsubscribe from the cloud trial

Poor implementation

Bought another WiFi camera from Amcrest which now only works on their new Smart Home app. This app is full of bugs and works poorly. It’s crazy that within the same system I would have to use two different apps to control amcrest cameras bought at different times. Will be returning the latest camera and considering buying into another system with better implementation.

Does not support pasting passwords

Absurd and makes it extremely difficult to log in if you use a password manager. It’s 2025, come on.

Great Product

I’ve had the Amcrest Smart Home Hub WiFi system for about 3 plus years now and I don’t have major complaints, the support team are great and quick! I hope they continue to provide the same cameras . Love the cloud service because it is inexpensive! Recommended

I cant log in

I am trying to log in ti the app but i dont receive a verification code. I have been trying for two days

Abject Failure

I purchased an crest indoor camera for use for one of my family members. To use it, I have to use this app to sign in. To sign in, I need to create an account. I have submitted no less than a dozen different attempts at the same email address, only to find an empty inbox and an empty spam folder. until I can get this app to work, the camera is effectively a doorstop. I am severely disappointed in Ambercrest and their ability to do something as simple as provide a product that works. The use of this app to force me into signing up, shows that they haven’t thought this through very well, and that they’ve fallen pray like many companies to the idea that using an app and just sending things to the cloud is the answer to everything. If the camera was available locally on my network, then that would be one thing, but I can’t even do that supposedly according to their documentation.
