Crashes since iPad OS update to 18.3.2

As stated by other reviews the app now crashes whenever you change playback parameters. Started happening after iPad OS update to 18.3.2. Please fix this. The app is unusable trying to playback anything beyond the current day.

App is best for iPad but developer not keeping bug free when Apple pushes updates

Playback is impossible because it crashes when trying to specify an end date and time.

Constant crashes

App crashes almost every time I try to add or delete a camera. Tried deleting and redownloading the app with same behavior.

App crashes when playback parameters are changed

Iโ€™ve been using this app for 7 years. I actually prefer it to the iPhone app. But ever since I updated my iPad IOS to 18.2, the App crashes whenever I try to change both Playback time settings. Please tell me this can be fixed. Iโ€™d hate to see this app relegated to the scrap heap.

Does not connect

It will not connect to the camera even after verifying the username and password five times. This app appears to be developed by someone with little understanding of English, as they substitute โ€œcrateโ€ for โ€œcreateโ€. The app doesnโ€™t work and is useless, so zero stars is what they deserve.

Worst app on App Store

I don't know how a professional company can let something like this stand. Aren't they embarrassed? Something as simple as selecting HD for the camera view isn't saved, each time you go into the app you have to select HD again. And the main images on the monitor attached to the NVR are horrible as you can't actually select the resolution of the NVR output, you would have to have a monitor that matched the NVR maybe? Can't tell. Technically it works, but all the apps and documentation are many years old. Why is this being sold as new if it's so old?

Better experience but less compatibility

Iโ€™ve ben a long time user of Amcrest cameras (over 8 years). This app is designed for the iPad, but Amcrest is not keeping it working with all the cameras. I just upgraded a few of my cameras and they donโ€™t work with P2P in this app. They do work in the other, non-iPad app. That app is really a crummy experience on an iPad. So Amcrest support told me to โ€œjust keep using the non-iPad app.โ€
One other point is that there is no way to reset to a single camera view in playback.

Adequate, but needs improvement

I wrote the review below a while ago. My current view is that this app needs to removed and support for Amcrest View Pro expanded. On the iPad this app is a total disappointment while Amcrest View Pro is pretty good on both the iPad and the iPhone. There is no need for the iPad version.

My first Amcrest camera was the IP4M-1041W which was connected and configured quite easily. This camera is controlled by my alarm to be powered only when the alarm is on. Everything works well enough including its alarm functions. Then I added an IP5M-C1188EW for outside use. This camera does not support PTZ, yet the the iPhone app still shows the control when viewing the camera. It was a point of confusion at first until I reviewed the cameraโ€™s capabilities. With 2 cameras and both on Live View, the swipe to move between cameras works well. Nice. Another issue the differences between the iPhone and iPad versions of the app. The iPhone version has the PTZ function enabled on an unsupported camera whereas the iPad version shows the PTZ controls as non-functional. Yet, on the iPad viewing the IP4M with PTZ, I cannot get what appears to be the PTZ controls to work at all. Thus non-functional everywhere AFAIK. On the iPad after access to the top left menu functions, the Live View button does not return to a live view. Overall, the app is functional, with iPhone vs iPad differences as noted. However, both versions of the app have a neglected feel and I think both versions could be cleaned up and functionality merged. It is much easier to configure the cameras from the local web interface, it could be improved, but it works well. Between the camera value proposition and the app, Iโ€™m still pleased with my selection of Amcrest for my security cameras. Posted to iPad version.

Not so good on the iPad

The iPad version does not support live view well. After running for a few minutes, the image is jumpy. Looking at the time stamp, you see the time jumping back and forth.

Horrible

So frustrating. This app does not work.

Good app

Very happy

Canโ€™t set up new cameras on P2P

I have set up new Amcrest Cameras for years. Suddenly with a recent update I can no longer set up new cameras on my iPadusing P2P. It errors out โ€œFailed to Connectโ€.

I can connect those same cameras to the iPhone app with no issues using P2P. Obviously, an issue with the iPad app.

Canโ€™t connect both of my camEraS

Tried many times.

Playback save no good

Cannot save videos to the iPad because of some format error. Cannot screen record playback because it doesn't record the sound. This is unreal. I have a lot of money invested into Amcrest for them to give up app development.

App isnโ€™t reliable

The app sits and spins about 70% of the time, it is NOT my internet since every other app doesnโ€™t have this issue. And yes Iโ€™ve deleted it and redo loaded. It makes a great camera not so great when you canโ€™t access it.

Does not work on iPad

Same camera that works on iPhone does not work on iPad ; sad performance

Good app but incomplete

Where are the preset controls?

H265 dav

Amcrest has a h265 .dav video file converter for windows, it would be helpful if there were an app for iPad Pro that would do the same. I am not able to do anything with the .dav file except to view it within the Amcrest pro app. iOS will not even recognize the file. You cannot even convert it so that it can be shared. Update; I discovered the iPhone app records video in mpg4 which is recognized on an iPad. To record and view video you need to use the iPhone app on the padโ€ฆ..which makes no sense. You should be able to choose between the two formats or it should just default to mpg4.

Just use the web version

Canโ€™t even go back and look at another days footage.

Need to update your app

The Amcrest developer need to update this software because itโ€™s getting crashed more and more and support new hardware of the ipad to make it run better. Hope to get it update soon before I buy the cameras from other companies
