File extension problem-server off line
The server is always down. I use an other app. Dav files extension can only be read by Amcrest. No app nor software can read this file. If the camera witnessed something, it will be impossible to send the video as a proof. Server. Don’t buy Amcrest cam
Not very good
App doesn’t work like it should. Try to set a static IP address and the app crashes. You can’t log into your account to import devices, during setup, the app states no WiFi so you’re forced to use an Ethernet cable to set up the camera. Very inconvenient when your routers are in a not so accessible location. Looking for a different brand of camera.

Works For Me
Very simple setup. Works great for me. I did have the Hard Drive go bad in my DVR. Bought a replacement drive on B&H Photo. Installed. No problems. Highly recommended. Note. Don’t buy Hard Drives from Amazon. I have had terrible luck.
iPhone App features failure
I bought two Amcrest Camera's and set alerts only on one but push notices come up on the other that I do not have notices on. My last purchase!!! Also Camera does not always recover after internet or power outages! With so much technology out on the market they should have better services!! Also does not work with VPN!!

Not a intuitive app
The cameras are fine.. nonexistent costumer feedback/service option. So if you have an issue, you’re on your own. Wouldn’t purchase again.
For some odd reason got it to work on a Mac Mini.
I installed it and it popped up like it was already in my system. The company should be ashamed of themselves because they have a good product and yet they can't hire a good app guy. When your updates are two years old or more, they are bad but I got to do work. I also need to let you know I got it to work on a Mac Mini M4.

The Amcrest 4MP UltraHD Indoor WiFi Camera IP4M-1051B is one of the most disappointing security products I’ve used.
It does not record automatically, which makes it useless for security. A camera that fails at its core function is simply unacceptable.
The app from Amcrest Technologies is terrible — constant bugs, connection issues, unreliable playback, and settings that don’t work properly.
I followed all recommended steps (SD card, motion detection, schedules, resets), and nothing fixed it.
Customer support was no help.
Final verdict:
This product is not reliable, not user-friendly, and not fit for purpose. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Some days the server is not reliable and it can be days like that. Caméra is fine, though
Officially the worst app on app store
This is by far one of the worst software experiences I’ve ever had. It feels like only about 5% of the app actually works as intended. I honestly don’t understand how it was approved for release. Instead of improving their existing app, the company seems to launch a new one every year—and somehow each version is worse than the last.
I now have five different apps installed, and each one only performs a single limited function. None of them are properly maintained or meaningfully updated. Rather than fixing and improving what they already have, they just abandon it and release another poorly designed replacement. It feels disorganized and incredibly frustrating as a customer.
Their desktop software is just as disappointing. What makes this especially frustrating is that their hardware is actually excellent—but the software completely undermines it. The company seriously needs to reconsider its software strategy and invest in a complete overhaul. Right now, the apps are damaging what could otherwise be a strong reputation.

Mediocre at best
This app is mediocre. And that is being nice. Every time you go into the app, you need to reopen all the cameras. So it takes a good 20-30 seconds to get all the cameras up, one by one. Then when you record feed from a camera, it saves in some proprietary format. You can export it out of the device, but then you have no way of viewing the video. Not sure if you could put it back on the device to view, but it is not practical. Additionally, it fills your device and if you are not careful, will brick your device until it is unusable.

Needs Improvement
The app is necessary when you have older and newer Amcrest cameras on your network and it is functional, but it has major network problems. The app will crash every single time the phone leaves Wi-Fi network and transitions to the cellular network. Also, it would be really nice if you could stream audio on more than one camera at one time when viewing multiple tile views.
