Downloaded this a week ago. Purchased it and after one day it quit loading.

Do not purchase
I paid $16+ a few days ago for this app. It worked fine for a couple of days but now when I open it it shows the message “Total Failure” then redirects to the App Store where other versions of the dictionary are available that require “In app purchases.” This is a bait & switch and dishonest.
Fix the crashes to compatible with IOS 162
I have used this dictionary for several years now. I paid $39.99 for it and it’s been great but Please can you fix the crashes. App keep crashing since IOS 16.2 update

I just recently bought this dic•tion•ar•y (2 or 3 days ago). Today it asks me to download a new version and also when I open it there is a message that says: “Total Failure”.
Should I have to pay again for download a new version?
This dictionary was very expensive it cost 30 dollars.
Please help.

Doesn’t work
No idea why. It just takes me to the app store. I paid for this??
Unhappy with the Software
Nothing great in the dictionary. Besides, the thesaurus is hugely disappointing. Save your money, please. I hve already wasted mine.
Not honest
I bought this years back at a considerable cost (39.9$) and couple of years later they stopped updating in App Store. As a result all the dictionaries by Enfour, of which I actually bought quite a few, stopped working on new iOS. Then they would start selling the same title at a higher price. So, as a verified buyer, before you decide to buy, think twice. BTW, they do have a tech support: it’s one man shop I guess.
just received an answer from the developer claiming they have regularly updated their products. I pulled back one of the titles I bought Rogets II Thesaurus, and as of now it requires an update which is not available unless you buy it again @$6.99. ( I wish I could upload the screenshot to this rating) My American Heritage deluxe version stopped working at least 3years ago due to its lack of update and ergo incompatibility with the new iOS.
So i stand by my claim and urge buyers be aware of Enfour products: they are expensive, they don’t update forcing you to buy a new version and yes, their tech support is one man show at least in the past few years.

Worth every penny
Not only an excellent resource but the developers have kept this app up to date through every IOS version since it was introduced.
Crashing on startup
After one of the recent app version updates, AHD4 Deluxe edition is crashing on startup. Using iOS 12.5.3 (iPad Air)
Years of satisfactory answers
I have had this app for years. I use it almost on a daily basis. I cannot recollect a single time where I have not been completely satisfied with the definitions I have found. This is truly a tool for increasing our understanding of the world and I am deeply grateful to the makers of this app.
An Invaluable Resource
As a person who once owned the dead tree version of this dictionary, I am still amazed that I can carry around an unabridged dictionary on my iPhone and iPad. I use this app multiple times a day.
My go to Dictionary.
A few years back the developers had made a decision to stop supporting and updating this app, meaning eventually an update to the iSO would kill it. I don’t know how many people pushed back, I know I did. Hats off and thanks to the developers for re-thinking that decision.

Fast App and Good Dictionary
This is the fastest loading dictionary on App Store. The dictionary itself is my go to dictionary. It is also a thesaurus! The voice pronunciation is quite good. I use it often when I see words that's new to me.
Pricey and outdated, but at least they addressed the iOS 9 issues
Longtime user here, very satisfied with the app despite its high price. Unfortunately since iOS 9 arrived the app has been unusable, and it appeared the developers were going to require all AHD4 users to upgrade to the 5th edition -- at full price, another $25 -- just to get an app that would open without crashing.
Fortunately they came through: the latest update renders the app compatible with iOS 9.x. Whew.
No reason for new users to buy this one, but nice to see the developers finally giving us the working app we paid for.
