I like the app but it has bugs. I’ve owned an iPhone for many years and I’ve had this app the whole time. It’s never worked properly.

Hijacked My Twitter Account
I'm furious with this company. They had some poor anti-piracy code that ended up affecting ALL users, including those who paid for the app (me being one of them). I was traveling and wanted to use this app, and then it prompted me out of no where to have permission to access Twitter. I just blew through the pop ups because I wanted to use the dictionary app as a dictionary…the reason I bought it. Anyway, come to find out they published a post on my Twitter account without my permission: "How about we all stop using pirated iOS apps? I promise to stop. I really will. #softwarepirateconfession."
Because my Twitter is also linked to my Facebook, it got spammed there as well. I keep close communication with my clients, so I was very surprised to see this pop up all over the place with my name attached to it. It was very embarrassing. Enfour: I'd like a refund—what happened was unacceptable, and a simple open letter of apology doesn't do much. I deleted the app once I read about the 'bug' and haven't looked back. Unfortunately, you already made money from my purchase many years ago.

Great Dictionary App
An outstanding, easily accessible dictionary app. Uncluttered and easy to understand. It is so easy to find the definition, pronunciation, syllabication, and word origin of any word you search for. This is superior to other dictionary apps.

We have had this app for several years now and have used it almost daily for homeschool & general use. It's the best dictionary app out there in my opinion & well worth the price. What is really outstanding though is the customer support from "ENFOUR" and specifically from "Tracey" when we had some update problems with the app. We have older iphone versions (2nd generation) and don't alway's see the logic in getting the next new version of the same when it comes out. Apple has been "poor" in support of those of us that had made initial commitments to their product's, and when experiencing update problems they tend to hand you off to the "developer" to resolve issues that they would rather not deal with or have time to waste on. This can be a "nightmare" in many cases, but it was my luck to have contacted and been directed to Tracey from ENFOUR. The problem was corrected & the way it was handled by Tracey always made you feel like you were the only person that was most important. Triple A+ SERVICE & SUPPORT!!!

Can't believe ppl like this App.
This Dictionary has no phrases examples, it's very poor, no pic examples. It describes a word in few words, that's it. It's the worst dictionary there is for 2 dollars, You guys need to improve it. It's 5 times worser then any free dictionary. I can't believe ppl even like it, you guys need to try Free Dictionary, then u never will remember this one.

以前は快適に使えていましたが、今回のアップデートで全く起動しなくなりました。何度試しても駄目でした。気に入っていたので出来るだけ早く改善をお願いします。
Love this app, but...
I would totally give this app a 5/5, but ever since the update just recently, all it does is crash. I cannot even get the app to open. I've tried resetting as well as resynching the app, but nothing works! Please fix this and I would gladly give this app the 5 stars that it deserves. :)
Pops back to home screen
I tried to redownload, reinstall the app and also rebooting my ipod, but when I tried to start the app, it immediately pops back to the home screen. This was after the latest update of 3.6, previous version doesn't have such a problem. Please check it out, thanks.
It's just the fundamental app for words
Thanks for the ipad update. One more reason to like American Heritage!
Now, back to my original comment: The dictionary app is based on my favorite dictionary, American Heritage. Functionally it's a fine app, and is my standard for looking up my words. That makes it a fundamental app for the iPhone/iPad. No kidding, what else does one need?

Great app
Been looking for a dictionary to use on the go. This is the dictionary I am required to purchase for my kids to use at school. The price was great and now we can do homework in the car or wherever!!
Very good dictionary BUT:
Get rid of the transparent overlays feature; it is AWFUL!
Not bad
But what's up with the background issue the last two updates? Go to About > Settings, turn off background, then view any other screen--the other screens show as transparent with the About page behind it. Terrible. Otherwise good for four bucks.
Good dictionary
It agreat dictionary and everybody should quit complaning theres a setting to remove the background. I just leave it it doesnt affect anything you people complain to much.
Nit picking a good program
This is a finepiece of software. After reading the reviews I expected a really intrusive watermark. The watermark doesn't bother me at all and the dictionary is quick and very funtional.
Must have app for dictionary lovers
It's perfect. Replaced the trusty dictionary I've always had on my desk with this app. By the way, you can remove the background photo in Settings.
単語数が少ないですね
アメリカンヘリテージ４版を使っているので、試しに購入しました。が、単語数が圧倒的に少ないです。
基本的な単語はあるのですが、ちょっと専門的な用語を調べようとするとヒットしません。安い価格で
すが、無料版で提供されているWordWebのほうが語彙的には格段にすぐれているということで、買い
得感はないですね。ヘリテージの英英辞書を頻繁に使うなら、上のバージョンにすべきだったと反省
しています。
Good but marred by background image...
I bought it and find it useful.
I wish they would remove the background image
from the list view. Annoying and useless.
