Why Mixer exists
The problem
I realized I have a lot of friends I just never make plans with.
Not because I don’t want to — but because:
they’re not in a group chat
I don’t think to text them
or it just feels like effort to reach out
And I don’t think I’m the only one.
Making plans right now kind of sucks:
You only hang out with the same people in the same group chats
One person replies in a group chat of 15
You don’t know who to invite
You don’t want to invite too many people
You wait around for replies
Plans die in the chat
No one wants to be the one organizing
You overthink it and end up doing nothing
Real situations this fixes
Something spontaneous
You want to go to the golf range after work.
You’re not going to text 20 people just to find 1–2 who are down.
So you either don’t go, or go alone.
Now you just post it — whoever’s in joins.
Mixing different groups
You have friends from different parts of your life that would get along.
But they’re not in the same group chat, so it never happens.
This lets you bring them together without overthinking it.
Group chat guessing
You throw something in a group chat.
A few people respond, most don’t, and you’re left guessing who’s actually in.
Now you can just see.
People you don’t think to text
There are people you’d hang out with — you just don’t think to text them.
So you end up seeing the same few people over and over.
The idea
Make plans as easily as posting something simple.
Post a plan
Invite who you want (or keep it open)
People join if they’re in
You see who’s actually going
No back and forth. No guessing.
The goal
Make it easier to:
make plans more often
include more people
mix different friend groups
actually follow through
The bigger picture
After college, it’s way easier for your social life to shrink without realizing it.
This is just a small way to push in the other direction. Hope you try and enjoy.
