App is Worthless
App worked the first day only. Everything shows as connected, however the steps will not deploy. Save your money and go with the regular Amp steps.
App still not working
Totally disappointed after just purchasing these and having them installed. Of course my decision to buy them was donate the LED and ability to use the app. to adjust the lighting. I would have thought that the glitches for app would have been resolved by now but that doesn't seem the case. Hopefully customer support will get back with me soon to resolve the issues.

Terrible app
The app is the worst part of the whole package. Never works right. Loses communication to my steps all the time. Then try to relink it and it never wants to work. Straight up. Awwwwwful

The App doesn’t lower or raise the running boards since I got them. It connects and gives me the status but that’s it.

The step and led lighting is awesome but app is making it terrible fix this asap so we can use them properly without step lights going onoffonoffonoff and not able to change colors ever

Just installed the Vision series steps and the app worked at first, then said there was an update available, did the update and now it says it can’t find the steps so the app doesn’t work at all now. Rebooted my phone, deleted and reinstalled the app and still nothing. Should’ve trusted all the negative reviews on the app. Steps so far work great. App not so much!

Don’t waste your money on the app controlled SMART series steps
The app is useless. The steps work fine manually but you cannot use the app to deploy and retract the steps. When connected by Bluetooth to the app they will work at first but stop working in a day or two. The app will still connect but won’t deploy the steps. And if you do the device update that the app wants you to do it will not even connect afterwards.

Is the developer going to fix this app ever? It never works, can’t connect or change the colors. Waste of money all together and very disappointed. Please fix!
App doesn’t work
App lasted less than a week. The steps look great and work manually but they are no longer responding to the app.
App needs to be fixed
App does not work 90% of the time. When I first downloaded the app I was unable to change the colors of the running board lights. This went on for a week. There was not even an option to do so. Then an update came up, did that and finally had the option. Luckily I changed them to the color I wanted as soon as it updated bc now the app isn’t working correctly again. I’m unable to change the color, unable to manually turn on any of the lights, unable to change any settings…. Major bugs in this app that need to be addressed!!
I will say now that I have changed them to the amber color and they match the rest of the lights on my truck. They look awesome. My review is for the app only, not the running boards themselves

The APP works fine if….
You install it and answer ALL the questions. Name your phone, name your vehicle, add a password and confirm and anything else. THEN, ALL the features like changing the strip colors and MUCH more show up.
RGB lights don’t work
There is no ability to change the color of the lights like I was promised.
Needs an update
This is quite possibly the worst app on the market. For how much is spent on these “Smart” series steps, I would have expected better. Integrate this into CarPlay or Siri, and these steps would be the best on the market. So many possibilities, but alas…
Needs work
Have had my vision steps for over 2 months and the steps themselves are fine but the strip light and app need work. My strip lights used to change colors but no longer do. Set them and white is what I get. Driver side stop has about a 4 or 5 inch section that is green... Took a chance on these as the reviews all have the same complaints... Should have went with the none lighted dual motor version.

Love the thought of the lighting being able to change colors. Over paid for these steps when mine were new. Only purchased them for the color change. And, the app is useless as well as the internet when trying to get the color vision section to pop up in the app. Very disappointed
Can’t connect
I was able to pair the app with my steps. Then it asked to update so I did. Afterwords the app could no longer connect to the steps. The app needs fixed
Vision steps
There is no option for color change on the vision steps.
Vision light control options buttons missing
The buttons in the app that control the light options to change colors, set on/off during retract/extract are not on the app as they should be. They are literally just missing. The whole reason I got the Vision steps is for these options and they do not show up on the app
