Be warned - not what you’re expecting.

This app intro text is misleading (April ‘25). Apparently Apple have hidden the data needed to get usefully quick data on charge rates, and you have to measure actual charge time and the app does the maths that you could instead to calculate charge rates.

That’s not the developer’s fault, but they could have chosen to say so before you buy it and find out.

Kinda chapped my cheeks - be aware of this before you spend your money.

Unusable

This app crashes every single time I try to open it. Absolute waste of money.

Doesn’t work very well on iOS 17.2.1.

Update: I got the app working better and thanks Andre for replying to my initial review and attempting a refund. I upped to 3 stars since I’ve been able to perform and record some tests. If the interface said test below 70% charge rather than 90%, it would solve a lot of initial headaches. How is the user supposed to know that if the app doesn’t say? Also, the tests taking >10 to 20 minutes is a long time to wait when you can’t navigate away from the app during the test. Having an estimated countdown timer or a progress bar come up after 2 or so minutes would be helpful to decide whether to continue or abort for another time. Tried on 2 chargers and it didn’t work on either. My wireless charger charged my phone from 70% to 100% with the test running and the app didn’t record anything. I tried another plug-in charger at battery 87% and the battery icon showing charging. The app says the phone must be charging (check) and the battery must be below 90% (check). The test wouldn’t even start.

Response from developer

Hello. Please try running tests when your device is discharged below 70% if you are on iOS 17. Apple added several changes that will result in slower tests and need more total discharged percentage of your device battery in order to work. Unfortunately we could not persuade Apple support to reverse this change back in iOS 17. regards, Andre

Stopped working

Due to iOS17 maybe?? Tests take forever now, results are way off from prior tests with the same gear.

Response from developer

Update . 10/25/2023. Hello. Support for iOS 17 was added. Please update your app. Regards, Andrew Hello. Yes, iOS 17 broke the battery reporting functionality. We opened case with Apple but so far they are not providing any info on when is it going to be fixed if at all. Hope that we will not need to bring it to the media if they will decide not to fix it. Regards, Andre

A must to have.

Ne fonctionne carrément pas

Nice App for charging your phone and giving you info about your phone.

Misleading, no battery test, just charger test

I downloaded this to work out how healthy my battery is, this app won’t tell you.

Response from developer

Hello. Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, this information is not available for app developers. But it is easily available for iOS itself. You need to go to settings, battery, battery health. You will have that information there. Hope that helps. Regards, Andrew

Does not support Wireless charging

I paid for this app just because it said it supports wireless charging. I tried it and it doesn’t read when using a wireless charger.

Please update ASAP otherwise I will request a refund.

Response from developer

Hello. It fully supports wireless charging. You just need to make sure that your device is correctly positioned, getting no disconnections from the charger, and is sufficiently discharged for the test. Feel free to email me at support@criosoft.com if you will still be unable to test it. Thanks. Andrew

Worthless inaccuracy

Completely inaccurate readings and it claims my brand new 20, 30, 60, 90, watt chargers from Apple only output 10.5 watts on my new iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. Your chargers would only work in the quick charge device range. Which is from 0% charge to about 50% charge. If you are charging your device at higher charge percentage - those chargers will not be able to supply their full power. Regards, Andrew

Kein Cent Wert

Andreas

Difference between Amperes vs. Amperes 3?

What’s the difference between “Amperes” and “Amperes 3” app? I bought Amperes 3. Both are from the same developer and seem to do the same thing.

Did I purchase the wrong app?

Response from developer

The main difference would be different interface. Also some other small things. This version should provide you with the same test results as another Amperes. Thanks. Andrew

Throw my chip cables away

Great app. I thank you. Now I can test my chargers and cables.

Nice app to have on every phone

Very nice app, does what it says and some more! Well worth the 99 cents! :)))

App helped me replace a faulty charger

Great app with a lot of useful diagnostic tools. I thought my phone’s battery was worsening this past year but it turned out it was a faulty charger. Tested out a new charger and the charge speeds are back to normal.

Works great!

Just found out the reason why my Apple charger was charging my phone so slow. Bad wire :( Now when I can check and compare wires, few of my beautiful wires ended up in the garbage, because those were beautiful only on the outside. Thank you, Amperes!

Very good app for charger testing

I use it all the time for charger and cable testing. It works good if you want to compare chargers or just to see if your wireless charger is charging the phone quick enough. Recommended.
