Garbage App, Don't Waste Your Time

Can't even create a simple portfolio with some ETFs without being asked to pay. Only thing you can do is to add static portfolio values, that is it. What a joke.

Response from developer

Thank you for providing feedback. We've just updated the app with clearer badging on premium features to help all users better distinguish between free and paid options. If you ever have any questions, more feedback, or would like an extended trial, reach us anytime at contact@getample.co. Here is some more information for full transparency, in case it helps other users: Ample is always free to use for basic tracking (unlimited accounts, unlimited snapshots). For automatic portfolio tracking, there is indeed a small fee. The service / API that provides live market data is quite costly. This small fee helps us recoup some of the cost and allows for continued development of the app, while keeping the experience ad-free and never selling your data or pushing other products on you. There is a 30 day free trial available to anyone who would like to try it out first. Ample Pro also includes some extras like custom charts and homescreen widgets.

Exactly what I was looking for

Great app. I love the simplicity and how easy it is to see the important numbers quickly (especially safe withdrawal).

Great App for Tracking your Network and Safe Withdrawal

I’ve been using this app for a bit, and I’m already impressed. I was a bit hesitant to add all my financial accounts at first, but I’m so glad I did. The app provides a clear, comprehensive view of my net worth over time and, most importantly, calculates my withdrawal rate. This insight is a game-changer for me, as it helps me understand how much I can safely spend without eating into my principal. It’s a great tool for anyone wanting to keep an eye on their investments and stay on top of their long-term financial goals.

Barebones, a lot to improve

The app right now is fairly barebones. The pro feature costs more than the value that’s being provided. Areas for improvement:

1. When entering securities, if you need to enter a lot of them, there’s a lot of scrolling. Look to create better UI/ UX prompting users for ticket, then share amount on a second screen.

2. No support for mutual funds like VTSAX.

Response from developer

Update - March 19: Good news - we've updated to a more robust market data provider that now includes a large amount of mutual funds, including VTSAX. Thanks for providing feedback. I have some updates for you: 1) We just released an update with improved stock / crypto portfolio creation. This should minimize scrolling, and generally improve the UX. 2) Full transparency: our market data provider is missing some mutual funds. We are working with them to see when they can get them added. We’re also looking into adding additional data providers to bridge the gap. In the meantime, users can track these using manual accounts. Expect an update soon. For additional feedback or feature requests, reach us any time at contact@getample.co
