This app is suggested by the IAmsterdam website but it's really poor. They have a nice map of Amsterdam here but you can't download it, it takes you to the website by using the in app browser. So it's just easier to use their website for this map instead.
Coffee shop feature
Without the coffeeshop map the app is lacking it's best feature rubbish without it!

I only paid for this app for the coffee shop features which have now been removed, rendering this app pointless for me

I brought this app a couple years back to help me around dam and find coffee shops was the best one I have come across and worked lovely!
Now with new update can't find coffee shops or anything ! Only reason I paid for the app. Terrible not worth paying for at all!!

Useful guide to the city
Great app, easy to use with a detailed map and gps location facility. Would be useful to include directions from location to destination as the map only shows direct route. Also, would like a search facility to type in the names of places rather than having to find them in the lists provided. The information about the places was useful especially where opening times were included. Would use this again and would recommend getting the paid version to make best use of it.

4 hrs free of offline map which really works well. Tracks well too. Grab the info map in conjunction with the app at the tourist information for maximum benefit.
Amsterdam Map App
At first after downloading this map, it seemed not to work. There were no street names and the map had overlays. It was uninteractive.
However, after reloading it a short time later, it worked great! So be patient after downloading it. It will work ....eventually. & it will work well.
The in-app purchase is a must. Totally worth every penny. Even a 'legal' stoner like me cannot get lost there. Not only that but it works seamlessly without the need for wifi.
Despite as I mentioned earlier about the app not opening properly in the beginning, I still rate this app 5 stars as it works so well.
Oh one more thing, the app gives you 3 days free to start with, so if visiting Amsterdam for three days or less, you can download the app just before leaving and use it for free!

Great map, easy to use, def download
I downloaded this map for our trip to Amsterdam and it really made getting around the city easier. The map is easy to use, has all the tourist sites listed, and is easily readable. One thing this map has that some others don't is that is list the tram line numbers for the tram stop, so you know which line is where and where it is going. Small detail, but huge difference when navigating the city.
To sum it all up, definitely download this map when visiting Amsterdam. It will make your life easier.

Great app
I've used this app on several trips to Amsterdam and found it extremely helpful. My wife also has the upgraded version but the free version has most of the features we need. Highly recommend.
Essential to every visitor
I learned of this app from a magazine in out hotel. This app gives you everything you need for a successful trip to Amsterdam. It shows you where you are exactly, loads of points of interest nearby and draws a route to follow. It shows what trams to catch, information about museums, where the nearest coffee shop is when you are gasping for a caffeine hit.
I would only recommend the paid for app because for such a tiny price it is like having a personal tour guide on the phone and doesn't need a data connection to work. I don't understand how it does it but it made our trip to Amsterdam a real pleasure knowing exactly where we were, where we were going, how we where getting there and what we would find when we got there!

Loved this app..
Our visit to Amsterdam was so much enjoyable with this app. Best 2.99 spent on an app. The gps feature(which doesn't require for ur device to be online) was a great help at all times.

Beware!
I downloaded the app on my iphone. Very nice map. I paid $2.99 for the upgrade. The upgrade came through on my iphone, but not my ipad. I contacted the app and was told, It's an Apple policy that we can only send the app one time to one kind of device. I then contacted Apple several days ago. No response from Apple. No help. These guys can get away with whatever they want. Contact Apple and they will refund your money, as they did for me.

I came to this app with so much hope, on the verge of my break in Amsterdam, "how handy" I thought, " an app that will get me around the city with the minimum of fuss"
you may imagine my disappointment when, upon arriving in Amsterdam, I found it to be absolutely useless, and I'd purchased the "off-line" version too. When I got back to England there was an update waiting for me, which I assume fixed the problems I'd encountered, but how am I to know? Sorry, very poor indeed, and a waste of money to boot, unfortunately I can't mark it no stars, but 0/10, must try harder.
