Camera access request.... I’m confused

So I downloaded the app and the first thing it asked me when I opened it was to access my camera... why would this ‘book’ need access to my camera?
I denied it as I don’t understand why it needs access to my camera. Now it won’t allow me to view the app... It just says I need to give the app camera access...?

Dommage, après achat du livre et chargement de l’application le scan de page ne permet pas d’avoir accès au contenu supplémentaire.
