Peace of mind
We often row ashore when out in the yacht and I’m sometimes left wondering whether the tide will go out too much (leaving us high and dry) or the anchor will drag. With Anchor Alert, my worries melt away because even if my phone is on silent, the alarm will sound.

A big contribution to a good nights sleep
I find this to be an impressive anchor alarm both standalone and particularly when working alongside the excellent Predict Wind Datahub. It has a simple and intuitive graphical interface based on a satellite view of your location. There are two modes - Simple and Datahub.
In “Datahub” mode, you start the anchor watch when your boat is pointing at the deployed anchor. The app then uses your depth, wind data, rode and the (pre-set) position of your GPS antenna deployed to calculate where your anchor is placed. From then on it monitors your position and generates a loud alarm if the boat moves outside the safe zone. You can enter any parameters not known to your Datahub and can enter everything if you don’t have one. If the hub has an internet connection, you can also monitor it from anywhere in the world – including the local taverna! Accuracy is improved by presetting boat parameters such as bow height, draft and GPS distance from the bow and offset to port or starboard.
In “Simple” mode, a single click sets the anchor 30m in front of your phone. If you “Set Anchor Position” from the bow when you drop the anchor and before pulling back, you can instantly drag the anchor symbol to the current boat position. Otherwise you can wait till the boat has settled then estimate the position from the rode deployed, depth and distance of phone from the bow and then drag the anchor symbol accordingly.
Once the anchor position is set, you set up the safe zone. A simple drag sets up the safe circle. A loud alarm will sound if the boat goes beyond this. If an obstacle is within this circle, you can exclude it by setting up a safe angle.
If your boat moves outside the safe zone a loud alarm will be sounded on your phone. In case you are concerned that a wind or current shift will take you into range of an obstacle, you can easily set an angular exclusion zone. The app even works out if the anchor scope is safe for the weather conditions.
I thoroughly recommend this as a significant contribution to boat safety and to a good nights sleep.

Peace of mind
Setup and monitoring is very intuitive: really like the user experience for this! DataHub is a key part of our nav kit, and I love that we can have a position monitoring tool that also delivers the rest of our NMEA2000 data remotely. Truly peace of mind when we’re away from Totem.

Amazing features
This app paired with my Datahub Pro has more features than all my other anchoring apps combined. Cant reccomend enough.
Game changer
With the new version released and connected to the latest firmware in the DataHub it is working well for me. When I start the alert session on the boat, connected to the DataHub wifi, I can get alerts on my phone when away from the boat over cellular. Great peace of mind. No other app I know of can do all the things this does. Well done PredictWind !!!
