About

AnchorBase is a reliable anchor alarm for sailors, cruisers, and boat owners who want peace of mind at anchor. Drop your anchor point, set a safe swing radius, and AnchorBase keeps watch using your device’s GPS position. Whether you are relaxing onboard, cooking, leaving the boat briefly, or sleeping overnight, AnchorBase helps alert you if your boat starts to move outside your chosen safe zone. WAKE UP WHEN IT MATTERS AnchorBase is designed to give clear, urgent alerts when your boat may be dragging. A loud alarm and simple warning screen help you respond quickly, even at night. The app can continue monitoring in the background using your device location, so your anchor watch keeps running when the screen is off or the app is not open. SMARTER DRAG DETECTION AnchorBase is built to reduce unnecessary false alarms while still warning you when movement becomes concerning. It checks more than just distance. By looking at position, movement, speed, bearing, and GPS behaviour together, AnchorBase helps separate normal swinging from possible anchor drag. It can also detect slower movement over time, helping catch gradual dragging rather than only sudden break-outs. A clear status panel shows how AnchorBase sees your boat, with plain-language risk levels and explanations instead of confusing technical data. CLEAR ANCHOR WATCH DISPLAY See your anchor point, safe swing circle, live boat position, and recent movement directly on the map. AnchorBase gives you a clear view of where your boat is in relation to your safe zone, helping you understand what is happening at a glance. SHARE YOUR ANCHOR WATCH Share a live link with crew, family, or friends so they can follow your boat’s position in real time. You can also monitor your anchor watch from a second device, making it easier to keep an eye on the boat from onboard or nearby. USEFUL ANCHORAGE TOOLS AnchorBase includes helpful extras for life at anchor, including tide awareness, wind advisories, and an anchor session logbook. Your sessions and tracks can be saved, giving you a useful record of where you anchored and how your boat moved. START IN SECONDS No account is needed to begin. Start as a guest, set your anchor alarm, and create an account later if you want to save and continue your session. BUILT FOR TRUST Your position stays private unless you choose to share a live link. You stay in control of who can see your boat’s location. AnchorBase is built to be clear, calm, and easy to use when it matters most. Made by sailors for sailors IMPORTANT AnchorBase is designed as a sailing aid. It should not replace proper anchoring technique, regular checks, weather awareness, seamanship, or onboard navigation and safety equipment.

What's New in AnchorBase

2.1.4

July 29, 2026

Drop Anchor now responds instantly, every time. If GPS needs a moment, the app keeps working on it and drops the anchor the second a trustworthy fix lands — you'll never be asked to "try again." Point & Set now corrects your compass bearing for magnetic declination automatically and accounts for your bow offset, so the projected anchor position is noticeably more accurate. The suggested alarm radius is now based on how much rode you actually laid out — no more one-size-fits-all default. A watch you can trust overnight The anchor watch now runs at full strength while you use other parts of the app — browsing History or the Logbook no longer affects monitoring or triggers false alerts. Sailing solo? Backup alerts now reach your own phone if the app is ever killed overnight, and the "watch stopped" warning repeats until you've seen it. Anchored somewhere without signal? The watch now stays armed through connection gaps. New warnings that actually wake you: Low Power Mode detection mid-watch, a louder low-battery alert, and battery warnings that tell you how many hours of watch you really have left.
