Love it!

As a Colchester resident and history lover, I love this app! It’s the first of its kind for the town, and there is a lot on it!

Historic Colchester

Well if this is all there is to it I doubt it’ll attract many visitors. Four or is it five graphics, none of which is particularly compelling, do not do justice to the Museum, the ancient Roman wall or St Botolph’s Priory.
I appreciate that the drug dealers will need to be moved on from St Botolph’s to encourage the public to spend time admiring the ruins. But some data boards and signage will also be required, leaving this up to CBC however is made more in hope than expectation.

Geospatial failure

I can’t really see the point in making an app available to guide you around Colchester when the map and the gps location are out of sync. This means that following the map is very difficult. Get in touch with a geospatial specialist and sort it out. Seems a pity to have spent so much lottery money on something with such a basic and easily fixed flaw.

Technical problems- GPS

This looked like a great app for visiting Roman remains in Colchester.
We were completely lost for the first 20 mins until we realised that the gps locator was about 200 yds out of synchrony. Ended up asking the locals for directions ( there are practically no useful tourist street signs that we saw when walking in this town.) . Eventually found the castle and natural history museum and all was well!

Didn’t work

On my Ipad pro could only get opening titles, then it defaults back to the desktop. Reloaded 3 times. Maybe sabotaged by the Iceni.

Great info for a visit to Colchester

Useful little App if visiting, shows an interactive map and you can find out about places to go and see, and a bit more about them before visiting so you can plan your route.

Didn't work in the castle

This app did not want to work in the castle- even with the reception staff, so we rented a tablet at the castle. For the trail around Colchester it was good.
