One of The Best Retro Style Games
People who have not played Game Stew games like Legacy or the Tower of Fortune series games are really missing out on an amazing gaming experience. These games are meticulously polished and designed by someone with very thorough understanding of the classic rpg games and roguelikes. The music and sound effects are amazing and the humor is very clever.

I adore this game
After 3 years of playing this game, I can say it scratches a particular RPG itch. The victories are sweet. The random deaths are bitter. It is always possible to start a new game very quickly. One of my favorite ios games. I love the work of Gamestew.
Fun little game
It plays like a board game. I beat it within a day. A bit unbalanced and the difficulty of the “towns” are not in order. I don’t like that there were so many random encounters that could instantly end your game on a bad roll.
One of my go-to phone games
I have played this game so many times. I love the gameplay loop, and how I can set it down at any moment and my character won’t die. I wish they would update the graphics for newer phones though; some if it is a bit blurry now that I’m looking at it on an OLED screen. Also, I would LOVE to see a sequel, or a new game with a similar mechanic.
Great work, y’all!

I keep coming back to this game!
For a casual old school RPG adventure game, I cannot recommend this one more highly. The game involves chance and permakills. If that’s not your bag, skip this one. For me, it just makes those rare victories all the sweeter. Game Stew is one of the most unrated dev groups I know. All of their stuff is perfect for ios.

OK but unbalanced
I like the concept of this game and at first really enjoyed it. But then I started experiencing how unbalanced the battles are. There is one enemy in particular (not even a boss) that starts with 9 base attack plus dice rolls. It is nearly impossible to beat him, you’d have to be lucky enough to win the lottery, and he instantly kills you. Try as you might, you can never build your attack stats to a 9 base stat.
If there was some kind of bonus when you died, like your stats get stronger each time, it would work. But as it is, I don’t like this game anymore and deleted it, even though I bought all the IAPs. Tower of Fortune is much better, you can actually progress in that one. I don’t recommend this game.

Create a sequel please!
I really enjoyed this game! The gameplay is quite simple like an old roll and move board game but engaging and manages to feel like an adventure. I have almost every title from Game Stew but I always come back to this one. It hits all the right spots for me. I would love to play a sequel to this or even an IAP update with new content or worlds to conquer. Favorite iOS game. Thanks!

Best phone game I’ve ever played
I’ve played this game many times, and will probably play it many more. It’s perfect for phones, because at any moment you can set it down and it saves your place. The gameplay has a good pace, and the sound/music is great. I always play as the wizard, and it saves my skin having two dice and being a woman. I only wish there were more games like this.

Good and simple gameplay with variations
Love simple games with deeper stories or things to incover
Really a good game!
If you take the time to figure it out, this really is a good game. Game Stew nailed it this time! I only wish there had been some kind of short tutorial. It can be frustrating to learn with no direction. Glad I took the time!

The best!
Favorite developer, favorite games. Please keep making these great Game Boy colored games! Thank you!
Wonderful but...
I really really enjoyed this game when I was playing it, and when I kept dying, it made me want to keep trying to see how far I could get.
But here’s the thing.
After all the buildup and all the time it took me to finally beat the final boss, I was expecting a little bit more than just a screen with the final score and a couple pages of epilogue text. I don’t really know what I was expecting, but after such a long struggle, it felt a little bit anti-climactic.
Aside from that, the gameplay was super fun and engaging with just the right amount of frustration. Keep up the good work, Game Stew. I look forward to many more games from you!

Awesome Legacy
Ancient Legacy feels like a simple but fun rogue board game. The experience is enjoyable, the game play is intuitive, and I’m looking forward to endless fun playing this game.
Perhaps I'm missing something...
Let me start by saying that I love difficult games, and am completely comfortable with high stakes. I'm happy to die again and again if I'm given the opportunity to succeed by virtue of my decisions. However, this game is mostly on rails, with very little choice for the player of what to do next. Within minutes of beginning each game I encounter a relentless enemy with a +9 to every attack. If I spend $1 more to get a character that rolls two dice in combat, I have a miniscule chance to win if I roll boxcars. The game forces me around a circle so that I cannot avoid encountering the same enemy again and again until I'm dead. Serious rage quit. Deleted.

Wow
This is so addicting. I've been playing non stop the last two days
Querformat?

So. Very. Slow.
If you could tap to speed through animations and bridge screens and dice rolls etc. this would be 4 stars. As it stands it's basically unplayable. I deleted it. If it's updated, I'll change my rating.
7+ (iOS 10.x)
Unique and entertaining. Definitely deserves more attention than it has gotten to this point. ***EDIT: Thanks for the continued support!
What a rip!!!
I was keen to play this as I thoroughly enjoyed the "Tower of Fortune" series, but to my dismay, "Legacy" is just way too difficult. I played the first area multiple times and almost always lost to bad dice rolls, and once I finally thought I got somewhere it bugged out and lost the only progress I made since I bought this! Trust me, this at it's current state is not worth your money. Save it for something else or be warned.
