Missing books

Hi Axolotl_19, Thank you for your review. A few days ago, the book search provider we rely on experienced a temporary outage, which caused all search results to come back empty for a short period of time. If you searched for your book during that window, that’s likely what happened. Search should now be working normally again. To make the experience more reliable going forward, we’re expanding our book data sources to include both Google Books and Amazon, so issues like this are less likely to affect you in the future. If you’re still unable to find the book, feel free to share the title with us and we’ll gladly look into it for you. Thank you again for your feedback and for using Bookbear.

Hi Stazzi316, Bookbear currently relies on external book databases such as Google Books for metadata like release dates, rather than maintaining our own catalog. Because of this, incorrect or outdated information can sometimes appear, and it isn’t something we can directly fix at the source. That said, situations like this clearly show the limitations of relying on a single external provider. We’re actively looking into improving this by adding additional data sources, including Amazon where possible, and also considering allowing users to edit or override book metadata themselves for better accuracy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts — ideas like this help shape how the app evolves.
