About
Angle Lock keeps short notes and a few files behind a key you enter with the phone itself: open it to your first angle, then your second, then your third. Hold each one for a moment and the vault unlocks after Face ID or your passcode. Close the phone and it locks on the spot.
MADE FOR A HINGE
On a folding phone running iOS 27.1, the opening angle is read from the hinge. You choose 2 or 3 angles (for example 40°, 120°, 70°) and how close you need to be (±6°, ±10° or ±15°). Nothing on screen reveals the angles; the gauge only shows where the phone is right now.
ON ANY OTHER PHONE
Without a hinge, an on-screen dial covers the same 0 to 180° range, so the same sequence works everywhere. You can also switch to the dial by choice.
WHAT IT HOLDS
• Text notes: Wi-Fi passwords, door codes, booking numbers, anything short you do not want in a plain notes app
• Files added from the Files app, previewed inside the vault
HOW IT LOCKS
• Closing the phone locks the vault immediately
• Leaving the app locks it, and the content is covered in the app switcher
• Holding still at a wrong angle for a few seconds clears the entry; a stalled entry resets after 30 seconds
SECOND FACTOR, ALWAYS
The angle key is a quick first step, not a replacement for the device lock. After the sequence, Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode is always required.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Notes and files stay in this app on this phone, written with the system's file protection so they are unreadable while the phone is locked. No iCloud sync, no account, no analytics, and the app never connects to the internet. There is no way to recover the key: if you forget it, erase the vault and set a new one.
Angle Lock is a one-time purchase with no subscription and no in-app purchases.
