Not the greatest kairosoft entry…
After trying to get into this game with 3 full playthroughs, unfortunately this game doesn’t compare with some of kairosoft’s better entries.
While it was initially fun to expand the anime studio, unfortunately the gameplay loop and method of discovering new anime designs/themes/genres becomes quickly tedious.
If you’re looking to get a kairosoft game, maybe try one of the better entries with more depth than this one. Personally, I quite enjoyed Camp Story and Airport Story

Sizing
Can’t play this because it’s too large on my screen. Cannot get to the buttons because the bottom border is too high. Can’t rotate, either.
Great game however…
My anime studio didn’t go bankrupt from piracy, so a little unrealistic :/
Not that good compared to other Kairosoft games
There are very limited features and not many things to do in-game. You can only mix 2 themes together even if you get further in the game. You can also only choose one main character and it takes too long for them to level up so you have to keep making different works with the same one.
Too similar
This game is too similar to Game Dev Story and unlike Game Dev Story, you start with only three scenes which heavily limits what you can come up with early on. You might just run out of anime ideas or money or both before you finally unlock new topics or scenes.
Pretty good
This installment is pretty good! It reminds me a lot of game dev story, as I’m sure a lot of you who have already bought the game can agree. Sometimes when I try a new kariosoft game, I end up getting bored or don’t like the mechanics. (This rarely happens but when it does it’s frustrating) I can say anime studio has had me hooked for hours now! It isn’t the same way I was hooked to game dev story, sushi spinnery, or pocket stables, but I’m having a lot of fun!
My only complaint is that the background music is my least favorite out of all the games I’ve played from kariosoft. It’s really annoying and does not fit at all. After a while I got engrossed by the game and I didn’t feel too bothered by it anymore, but if you wanna mute it, at least the game gives you the option to turn of BGM and leave SFX on. But seriously, Usually kariosoft BGM is relaxing and I find myself humming it for hours. This isn’t the case with this song. Also, the song unlooped is probably about 45 seconds, so the same ugly bridge comes very often. With other games it felt like the actual song was longer, so when it would loop it wouldn’t feel repetitive.
Also this isn’t exactly relevant to the game itself, but I thought the title screen shown in the photos was the final office for a second. I’m not necessarily let down that it isn’t, but I think the fans would be very happy if an office that big would ever come to one of your games! Sometimes after the years go on and you’ve reached your goals, you want some more to do and manage. But anyways, that’s just a personal thought.
I’ve played countless kariosoft games and have loved the company for years. I’ve had a lot of fun so far with this game, I personally can’t compare it to some other kario games I love much more, but I still think it’s worth the time, 100%! Thank you for bringing us another game and I’m excited to see what you will release in the future. :)

Me like every kairosoft game
I don’t know why but I just seem to be attracted to every game these developers make. Obviously this isn’t the best they’ve done, but well you know, it’s still not bad!

This game is really good! Make a sequel that will be free titled “Anime Story Studio”! I love anime, and you should definitely check my favourite romantic animes!

Fairly enjoyable-my only question; how can you possibly fulfill/use all the character designs when you can only make less than half a page of original characters?

Most disappointing kairosoft game I've played
Background music is easily the worst I've ever heard in a video game. You will want to mute it within minutes of play.
Unlike Game Dev story, which I loved, you can't increase speed of the game. So a lot of the game is just waiting. I couldn't take the wait time after 15 min of play. The game is dead to me until they let users speed it up.
