Long-term disappointment
I own an Anthem AVM60 preamp which I bought seven years ago. The remote app worked fine until a few months ago and nothing I can do since then we’ll get it working. The two Wi-Fi antennas are correctly installed and in position as they have always been. The unit has had other problems over the years after the warranty expired, including random self-muting, randomly turning itself on, and randomly changing the volume. I’m going to get rid of it, all in all it’s been a major disappointment.

Update bricked it for me
It was working well for a long time now no device found on network. Hours of my life I’ll never get back. Going to try to sell my processor and get one from a company that knows what they are doing.
Simple and effective
Initially had connection issues until I realized my phone needed to be connected to the same 2.4 GHz WiFi band that my MRX 1120 is on. It will not link to the receiver when my phone is connected to the 5 GHz band.
Terrible app
I can’t believe how much money I spent on this receiver only to have an app that works 1% of the time. Completely unusable as it never connects.
Barely worth the time to install
For such a high end brand their app is such trash. Does it work? Yes, but it lacks so many features. I only use the app because CEC is so unreliable.

MRX 520 - tout fonctionne
Fonctionne très bien avec MRX 520, reconnaissance facile et toutes les fonctionnalités qui fonctionnent. Il manque juste l’accès à tous les réglages dans l’app (menu de configuration des enceintes, sources etc..) et ça serai parfait.
Iffy connect-update from two to four stars
UPDATE-After considering the Anthem CS rep observing the issue may be a WiFi environmental issue in your home/office,etc. I disabled my VPN. After doing so the Anthem remote control app now functions. I must remember to disable the VPN to facilitate remote control app connection.
Ps: suggestion to all encountering connectivity issues with the Anthem remote control app. Try disabling your VPN upon initial usage attempt of the subject app. I was encountering similar connectivity issues as others have shared. The Anthem engineers have designed an excellent multichannel surround integrated unit (I have the MRX 740). If the only issue is that I must temporarily modify my WiFi environment to facilitate the remote control app function I can live with that. As soon as I disable my VPN the remote app functions immediately as designed. I then reenable my VPN and the remote continues to function. When I do not use the app for a few days I simply repeat the process. Takes about 5 seconds. Enjoy the music.

I love the anthem receivers performance, but the quality of the app is inexcusable at this price point. It literally never works. It’s literally the worst app I have on my phone.

A lot of apps for appliances have creepy aspects. This one does not. It connects quickly and makes for really fast adjustments

The remote app has. Or connected to either of my two anthem amps for over a year. Pathetic

MRX 740 app works flawlessly on latest iOS. It’s not the most modern interface but it allows all adjustments needed.

Gen 3
Does not work correctly with Gen 3 receivers (MRX-520). Loses connection with the receiver. The application is very convenient, and I want the developers to fix this error.

Crashes on iOS 17 when loading
Crashes on iOS 17 when loading AND the STR is not on already. If it’s already powered on it’s fine.
December 2024 works A+
Just picked up an older AVM 60 and this App worked 100% on my Iphone and Ipads all w/ updated IOS software. The remote was pretty beat up so I especially appreciate the app working well. All the features work and it connected within moments to the equipment. A+
