Fix please: I love this app but its newest iteration has not been showing video, just blackness

Very good but flawed

I thought I was orginal

I thought a NASA photo a day would be such a cool widget idea. It already exists! So awesome. I got the app today and the photo of the day is… nothing. Just a huge blank space with a description of a photo that was meant to be there? It’s my first day with the app so it’s mega disappointing off the bat. Maybe I’ll make a photo collection and use my iPhones native widget features instead 😅

Black screen issue

The black screen issue has decreased the star level from 5 to 2. It is annoying as it has been a prevalent issue for a long time and although numerous people comment every time it happens, no one acknowledges the comments or the issue. So it proves- no one of any import is monitoring the comments and they obviously have no interest in the product they are producing - odd as this is supposed to be I presume a public education effort. I do acknowledge that if you are lucky enough to work at NASA that you are busy have much more important stuff to do but it would be appreciated if someone at NASA knows anyone that is responsible for this APOD app . If they could grab the largest megaphone available and put it two inches from their ears and shout - HUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

Very bad app

It puts watermarks over any saved photos, it’s impossible to the use the saved photos as wallpapers or anything. No other app does this joke of rubbish. Do not install this app.

Nice pics

Works good

Favorite app except videos!

Please fix the video functionality!

Love it, except videos

This app is amazing. I love the images, the explanations, everything about it. Except..... there have been 3 posts in 2026 that were videos. The videos didn't show up. Multiple commenters reflected similar experiences in each post, and nothing seems to have been acknowledged or done from the developers. I'd give it 5 stars, but can't do that without working videos. Bummer!

Going ? Going. GONE

Since October 1, 2025 daily distribution of any ΑPOD astronomical photographs has ceased. I thought it must be something that I may have inadvertently done on my end, - but then I read the latest here from all the other subscribers having exactly the same issue. WHAT HAPPENED? and WILL YOUR ISSUE BE FIXED? or SHOULD I JUST DELETE THE APP AND FORGET ABOUT YOU?

App Fail’s to update

Since Oct 1st my APOD app ( iPad and iPhone) has failed to update to the new daily APOD. I’ve tried reinstalling it and even downloaded the latest paid version from the App Store to no avail. I have to go to the APOD web site to get my daily fix.

Garbage

After the update it’s not possible to use this app without turning on notifications for it.

Pics

No new ones

What happened?!

No new pics in over a month! What happened?! Where did you go?! You were a part of my morning coffee every day!!!

Missing photos

What happened to you guys ???? I haven’t seen a picture in weeks !!!!

Where are the daily pictures?

Have not had a new picture in over a week! How do we get it going again?

I killed because of the opening quote

I can’t believe they used a quote from Elon Musk on their opening splash page. With all the true luminaries (actual scientists) in astronomy and astrophysics, using a quote from Musk is just superficial and offensive. Once I saw that, I had to delete it in favor of other options.

App requires subscription

I downloaded the app and could not procede unless I committed to an undisclosed subscription rate.

I deleted the app.

Quit working

Has not worked the last two days
