Opened the old game and the tower motor was toast. Found the app and it still works without major issue! Pleasantly surprised. iPhone 16 Pro on iOS 18.7.1
App crashes a lot now.
This app is great and is the closest thing you’ll get to playing the actual game without owning the actual board game. It really needs to be updated. It has issues now. The fights tend to be won way too often and you win too much gold compared to the actual game. Also, the game crashes now, a LOT. I can’t even complete a game now. And a popup window keeps popping up saying “Network Not Connected”, getting in the way of everything. That popup actually caused a glitch that made it forget how many men I had and it locked me into a fight where I wasn’t allowed to retreat. I loved this app before it got all buggy. I wish it could be updated and repaired. I FAR prefer the look and feel of this app compared to the other Dark Tower apps out there.

Great addition if you have the classic game
I spent a lot of time and money to get a complete Dark Tower classic board game. Loved playing this growing up and this app adds such a fun new level to it. It keeps the classic look and the classic play intact while adding just enough new characters and new elements that it doesn’t distract from the classic experience. Well done!!

Really Great App
I found Dark Tower in my father’s attic and having this app to substitute for the tower on the board (broken for years at this point) was a godsend. I have had so much fun playing, there have been no issues with it, the developers should really pay themselves on the back.
Create a version for the Infinity game table
Great idea but have you looked at making a version for the Infinity Game Table, would be awesome addition to that platform!
Wonderful and Quick Game to Take Me Back!
A number of times I was thinking of the classic Dark Tower game I had when I was younger. The new version released on Kickstarter appears too complicated and time consuming. I searched the App Store and found exactly what I craved and can play by myself in 15-20 minutes or longer if I choose. Thank you for re-creating this classic game ahead of its time!

I don’t know how many games have come and gone for me. I play a little while, I get bored, I remove the game.
If you want to be technical, I’ve been playing since the 80’s board game version. The game play is very much like the original. It even has the authentic noises including the sounds of the tower mechanism.
I have had two originals stolen. This has been an awesome replacement for a much loved game.

Latest version showing some bugs
Love the game, but with the last patch, noticing some bugs, such as the Elf not shows correctly of adjacent spaces, such as showing a lost space, but it’s really a plague, or it shows nothing is there but you get attacked. I also had a sword went to fight the Dragon, but the sword didn’t take effect. Also, way too many Troll fights, I literally had 5 Trill battles in a row, and they are extremely powerful.
Not sure what happened, but the bugs need fixing.

Awesome retro fun
I always wanted the board game as kid. Not in a million years would I have guessed that 40 years later I’d be playing it on a phone.

Picking character
Hi, only 2 characters show up when picking player piece, even if you have picked 4 people to play.
Just tried playing-sorry not a good update, no full screen, move points are off, couldn’t leave territory, etc.

Awesome, true to original game play
I absolutely love the app and was so excited when I found it. I got the board game back in 1981 for Christmas when I was 11 years old and played it often.
I updated the app with the 8/25 update. After turning the phone sideways (landscape), pressing start and selecting a kingdom and hero the app shuts down. I have an iPhone X. I’ve tried restarting my phone, deleting and reinstalling the app and it’s still not working. Hoping this is something that can be corrected quickly.
Plan on getting the add ons once the app is fixed.

Lots of fun again
I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. Great job! After decades of play my tower finally died but now I can play again. All the original sounds are very nostalgic for me. Thanks again !

Good, not quite like the original.
Played a lot of DT back in the day. This is a good but not a complete faithful version of the original.
Differences:
When you return to your home kingdom, you don’t not have the option to go to your Citadel and double your warrior strength.
Events on the Move key are too rare. 90% of the time it just beeps and the turn is over. Plague, lost, and Dragon rarely if ever come up unlike the original.
When you get cursed, it only beeps instead of giving the lost skirmish sound effect.
In Original Brigand battles, even if you were fighting a band much larger than yours, you always had a chance to win a skirmish and keep you in the battle—maybe even win. This isn’t possible in the app. This detail, combined with the lack of warrior doubling, makes attacking the tower difficult and tedious.
As I said, good, but not quite the feeling of the old game.
