Apparitions AR is a series of three artworks by artist Luciana Haill experienced as a layer of ‘augmented reality’ by viewing vintage postcards. Revealing heritage & social memory and elements lost in wars, storms and during rapid gentrification. First made in 2018, they bring back lost Victorian landmarks from her hometown of Hastings, East Sussex. The Apparitions are St Leonards Pier (destroyed in WWII), the Albert Clocktower Memorial (lost to fire in 1973) and Bexhill beach huts ( lost to storms in 1907 )
